Gorgeous & quirky - with very tasty food - Edit
This is one of our (as in my husband John & I's) favourite wee cafes. Its a little oasis of quirkiness. I always feel so relaxed here... the staff are delightful, the menu always varied, food is always very tasty too. I can thoroughly recommend it!

Excellent Cafe with great atmosphere - Edit
It’s in the centre of town, but not in an obvious position, down a little alley, we just followed another couple who exclaimed how good it was.
Read moreIt’s vegetarian, rather than vegan, but most of the dishes can be veganised.
We had the Croustata with aubergine and sweet potato mash, which came with a fabulous salad, and my wife had cheesy spicy beans, mushrooms on toasted sourdough bread. For desert, only because it’s cool to have vegan choices, I had a pear and almond tart, and my wife had apricot and ginger crumble.
I really wish this place was closer to where we live, but despite the hours drive, we will be back.
Pros: The food, The choice, The friendly staff and decor
Cons: Nothing

Fantastic - Edit
The food here exceeded my expectations, I had a homemade Croustade which was absolutely delicious and came with a very nice salad and slaw. Prices were reasonable for the quality. It has a nice courtyard with seating so great on a sunny day. One of the highlights of our Swanage trip!

Chanced upon Java by accident. They apologised for short staff and short menu but everything was excellent.

Impressive - Edit
Fantastic quiche (made with Feta) and a devine salad, I ate it all, my partner who is really into cheesy scones said they were perfect, again served with a salad. Great setting, we sat outside in the courtyard listening to overhead Swifts, inside was clean and contemporary. Staff very friendly and attentive, would highly recommend Java!

So pleased we found Java off the main street in Swanage. It's obviously well used by locals and it's easy to see why. Brilliant and friendly service with a wonderfully quirky ambience . The vegan cakes, tea and coffee were delicious and we look forward to returning to enjoy lunch on our next visit.

I can thoroughly recommend Java. Lovely, fresh vegan food - I had the croustade followed by the best tiramisu ever. Quirky decor and good tunes too!

Brilliant little hidden venue - Edit
Follow the signs down some alleys off the main street, and in courtyard full of flowers you find this venue. Food was absolutely delicious with a great variety of vegan dishes in addition to veggie options. The croustade of the day when we went was delicious along with a lovely salad and home made vegan coleslaw. My parents enjoyed the avocado on sourdough with halloumi which came with what looked like a mountain of avocado. Will definitely be back if we're in the area again.

So so great! - Edit
They are a veggie cafe with plenty of vegan options. It was a Saturday so there was a special brunch menu - the spring onion pancakes with avocado was amazing and their coffee was great.

Best Vegetarian Cafe in Swanage - Edit
It wasn’t clear to me how many vegan options there were if any. Nonetheless I had the Roasted Chestnut Mushrooms and Peppers in Toast which included a salad and non vegan Feta cheese. My wife had the soup of the day. Both were delicious. We both had Flat Whites with Soy and Oak Milk. Excellent service too. Out of the way place, down an alleyway, so a little hard to find.

Very trendy little place. Excellent home cooked food with either vegan or vegetarian options. Stumbled by it by chance. Animal friendly also. A really little gem. So pleased we found it. No where else in the town had any options.

Had breakfast here twice. The coffee was nice and I had the banana bread with yoghurt, berries and toasted oats on one day and the vegan breakfast on the next. Both were delicious. We sat in the courtyard which was surrounded by flowers. Such a nice place with friendly staff. Would definitely visit again.

We had an al fresco lunch here and enjoyed the vegan tart with salad. The coffee is the best we've tasted locally. There are vegan cake/dessert options, too.

Hidden gem - Edit
We were delighted to have spotted the A board advertising this little cafe which is tucked away in Swanage’s alleys (also home to a fab vegan cosmetics shop and an all-too-tempting chocolate shop with lots of vegan treats) and had a delicious lunch of savoury vegan rolls (billed as “sausage” but much tastier than usual ones) with chutney and a beautifully presented salad. Enjoyed it so much that we returned later in the week!

Well needed lunch - Edit
It’s a little gem in an area where it’s quite difficult to get good vegan options. Had a lovely sausage roll and gorgeous salad and chutney. Sausage roll wasn’t like faux meat but was still good. Was absolutely packed so had to stand around for a little while. And it is located next to a lobster place so absolutely stunk but I’d definitely go back if in the area (which is stunning)
