Standard Indian Food

Around 3 vegan entrees and 1 vegan appetizer. Plain naan is also vegan. Dishes are not labelled as vegan, but everything on the menu has allergens marked, explanations are on the final page of the menu.
The food is fine and reasonably priced, for being in the Old Town. Service was not especially friendly and we had to remind our server twice that we had ordered an entree. The Old Town is not very vegan friendly, so this is a good, central choice.

Exceptional food

I would have given this place 5 stars but since it's not fully vegan it's not possible in the app. Amazing food, vegan options are unfortunately not marked on the menu, but the staff is friendly and the food tastes great, I left with a very full stomach feeling happy. The prices are not bad either, considering the quality.

Pros: Very tasty, Not too pricey, Very friendly staff

Cons: Vegan options not written in the menu

Spicy but classic

Wasn’t possible to find any non-spicy veggie dish😄

fantastic indian place

the vegan items are not clearly marked, but the waitress is incredibly kind, so just ask - she named tons of options that can be made vegan! we had the vegetable curry, stuffed naan, aloo gobi and a chickpea dish. :)

all of them were amazing!

Great Location, Good Food

The location is absolutely ideal and the place is cozy. I had the Chana Masala and garlic naan. I enjoyed it a lot. I knocked off a star for the same complaint I see in the other reviews: unclear options. Don't waste your time, just ask. When I did, the nice waitress immediately pointed out the options. So I felt confident she wasn't guessing or anything, it seemed like a common spiel. Overall, a good experience.

Pros: Good food, Great location, Friendly staff

Cons: Unclear options, Not much seating

Good Indian food

There was just a few vegan options and they were not very clearly marked. Staff was friendly but the restaurant felt a little crowded.

Pros: Good food, Friendly staff , Vegan naan

Cons: Not many vegan options and not marked clearly, Crowded , Pretty expensive

Great Indian food!

I kissed many frogs today in Riga! Two of the restaurants I tried had only one vegan dish, one was deserted and one had their kitchen closed during lunch hour. Thank God for Raja. Plenty of choice and they even made me a vegan curry which wasn't on the lunch list

Pros: Delicious food , Great service , Very pleasant ambiance

Cons: None

Really good Indian

Was a little weary because the vegetarian dishes were labeled with an allergen 7 (contains milk) but there were a handful that were able to be made vegan. The samosas also showed 7, but confirmed they were vegan as well. The portions were large, and everything was delicious. Highly recommend the garlic naan!

Pros: Great flavor , Large portions

Cons: Menu incorrectly labeled dishes with 7 (milk)

Pricy

Decent Indian food, but nothing more than that.
The portion size is fine for a person with an average appetite, a little on the smaller size.
If you're an Indian, you might want to order extra rice. I was almost out. Or maybe try something from their naan-section.

Edit: I had the vegetable curry (which isn't listed in the vegetarian section) and plain basmati rice.

Pros: Friendly staff

Aloo gobi / dal

This place shouldn't be in HappyCow. Nothing is labelled vegan. Waitress will tell you, that Aloo gobi and dal are vegan. Ask & confirm & confirm-type of place.

Beautiful curry

I had the cauliflower sag aloo and it was to die for. Was a bit of wait but well worth it (although the rugby was on in the kiwi bar next door so may be why)

Pros: Good prices , Tasty , Cosy

Almost nothing for vegans

Quite expansive and there is almost nothing for vegans. Only like two ordinary dishes and that is all. I would say better to buy something in Rimi supermarket... at least much more cheaper...

Quality food

This place exceeded my expectations. It's a big menu and while there isn't a whole lot of vegan options, what they do make they do very well. The spice and flavor felt pretty balanced to me and the food came out quickly. We were also grateful to be fed at 10.30pm as other vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants had closed before then. The ambiance was nice too; we sat outside and enjoyed the music of street musicians nearby.

Pros: Quality Indian food

Cons: More vegan options would be great!

So good!

We were completely hungry and lost (because we were totally offline, NO Internet!) at the old town and find this Indian gem😄 we asked about the vegan options (I know that every Indian restaurant always has something!) and the staff said them quickly and with confidence! We felt ourselves safe to eat here. I ordered the cauliflower with potatoes, asking to make it without the spicy spices and promptly and positively answered! My hubby ordered the yellow lentils. As side dish, plain basmati rice. Was everything very tasteful. We felt so satisfied and happy! Including beer we spent 20€, was half the price we spent in another restaurant in Riga. And with a plus: the view!!! We recommend at all!

Pros: Friendly staff, vegan knowledge, tasty-cheap food

Good but high price

Very tasty indian food. Has some vegan options. Expensive, because one has to order a lot of the different components of the dish.

Amazing food and good staff

The staff pointed out the 5 or so vegan options and knew what vegan meant (not always the case) the food was spicy and delicious. My Indian partner absolutely loved his and said it had perfect flavour. Warning - I had the “level 2” spicy and it was very spicy for me.

Very accomodating!

Not entirely vegan, but the staff is friendly and helpful. I had a spicy cauliflower and potato curry and rice, and a friend of mine had a red curry with a cashew sauce. Just ask them to remove the cottage cheese and many options can be turned vegan!

Pros: Accomodating , Lots of flavour , Outdoor serving

Nice place to try Indian food at the very heart of Riga

This is a small and cosy restaurant right near the St. Peter's church. Our vegetable curry and Indian ice-cream were very delicious. All the dishes in menu are marked with 1-3 chilli peppers depending on how spicy the dish is. I'd say that the prices are a bit high, but considering its location, they are more or less acceptable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They know what vegan dishes are, and can offer excluding some ingredients (like cheese, cream, etc.) from a dish to make it vegan.

Pros: Choice of vegan and vegetarian dishes, Eccellent location, Staff

Cons: Expensive
