Ultimate sushi and customer service! - Edit
Hard to imagine how this place could get any better really, from the warmth and enthusiasm of the waitress to the sublime food. Pretty much everything is vegan and clearly labelled where it is not. We had the set menu, which included 4 starters, 4 types of sushi roll, a dessert (to share) and yuzu sake.
Read moreWe couldn’t fault any of it, and really everything was the best bit of the meal, that’s how you know you’ve had a good time! Go here and eat at once. You will not be disappointed (unless you’re really really really really really fussy).
It’s quite pricey (for us), the set menu is £45 pp, but it felt worth it.

Back for more sushi, and more sushi was had. At Ima, this is guaranteed to mean more food-based enjoyment, and when coupled with some prawn toast, tofu mountains and kimchi gyoza (spicy jobs) the ride is joyful, inspiring and fulfilling. Just like Arnie, we’ll be back (again).

The Art of Sushi - Edit
The restaurant itself is a very lovely spot indeed, and you can even see the chefs putting all the sushi together, which is pretty cool. The staff were also very nice, and our waitress was very knowledgeable, and even took us through the menu (giving recommendations and explaining labelling of menu as a couple of options are vegetarian and not vegan, so beware).
Read moreWe went for three starters and three rolls between the three of us, which made for a perfectly sized lunch. The starters we tried included the Sesame Butternut Squash on Toast (definitely my favourite), the Teriyaki Tofu Mountains (nice gentle flavour, if a little difficult to eat with chopsticks), and the Veg Gyozas (a yummy classic).
Then for rolls, we shared the Miso Black 'Cod', Mango-Kissed 'Tuna', and Sweetcorn Tofu. They were all deliciously refreshing and beautifully presented. My favourite was the Mango-Kissed 'Tuna' because of the fresh sweetness from the mango (so good).
Overall, a highly recommended food spot in London. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out, trust me!

Great vegan “authentic” Japanese minus the murder (vegetarian) - Edit
Was enticed in by extremely friendly staff. I had the Chicken Karaage, Vegetable Yakiudon and the Aubergine Unagi (all vegan, although the restaurant is vegetarian). A simple and clean vibe inside the restaurant with internal and external seating available. I will definitely be back soon!

I went to IMA for my birthday dinner with my family and we all loved it. Nearly everything is vegan with just a few vegetarian items marked clearly. The portions were much bigger than I expected and the butternut squash toast we had as a starter was just right between 4. Everything tasted and looked amazing - price was reasonable for the meal including drinks.

A little disappointing - Edit
After seeing all the rave reviews I was super excited to try this place but was a little disappointed with the food. The sesame toast for starters was delicious - definitely the star of the show. Shared a couple of sushi platters - the presentation was amazing but honestly I think the flavours were quite bland. Nothing special and for the price I wouldn’t recommend.

Ima really full now - Edit
Had the Chef’s Experience Menu which was way too much food for the two of us and ended up being a little overwhelming (and no room for dessert). The variety is impressive would go back but would order a lot less!

We had the set menu which was incredible value for money and included a cocktail. Sushi was tasty and unlike any I'd had before. Would definitely visit again if I was in Farringdon.

Delicious sushi and vegan small bites - Edit
Ima has a mostly vegan menu full of delicious Japanese small bites and sushi. The server and menu both pointed out the vegetarian options. The cocktail menu is cute with Studio Ghibli names.

VEGANS BEWARE! - Edit
My friend has a severe honey allergy. We planned to eat vegan, as I am a vegan while she is not but we knew vegan would keep her safe from honey. We told the server about her allergy just a precaution and learned that almost all of their sauces on the sushi had honey in them. If you are a no-honey vegan you will need to specify this as their vegan rolls almost all contain honey

Ima - Edit
Really nice Japanese food and friendly staff. My favorite thing was the butternut squash toast, it was surprisingly delicious! It also had a delicious chewy texture. The umami dragon roll was also quite good as was the karaage. However, I did not care for the duck salad, as the dressing was extremely overwhelming. The cheesecake is definitely something you cannot miss! I’ve had a lot of vegan cheesecake in my life, and this one is one of the best ones. They apparently source it from some place in Scotland, so I’ll have to find the supplier of that someday! ☺️

Delicious Fusion Sushi - Edit
Had the miso black cod and the gochujang parsnip crab tempura sushi.
Read moreI recommend the black cod! The cod was deep fried, crunchy on the outside, good texture on the inside. The sauce and the toppings didn't over power it too much - delicious!
The gochujang parsnip crab tempura was good but the parsnip was raw in the middle and crunchy. I just imagined it would be a bit softer if imitating crab. Obviously it's on the heavy side as it's deep fried and the gochujang sauce made it rich but the flavour all worked well. Probably won't order it again just because I would like to try the other delicious looking food on the menu.
The atmosphere was cute and it was very busy for a Thursday night. Definitely recommend!
Pros: Delicious sushi, Extensive vegan options, Cute atmosphere
