Little place for coffee, pastries, juices, granola bowls with yogurt, and milkshakes. Plant milks available. As of Mar 2018 pastries are all-vegan. Previously at Haarlemmerstraat 181. Food is all vegan but cow's milk is offered for drinks. Open Mon-Fri 10:00-17:00, Sat-Sun 09:00-17:00.

All the food is vegan. They provide dairy milk on request.
Read moreA very short walk from the Burcht ( oldest surviving castle in Leiden) so be sure to stop by when touring. I had a great chocolate filled pastry with a cappuccino. Service was good and very pleasant atmosphere. Keep an eye open as they don’t have a sign post.

There weren't many pastries available, so I chose an Oreo brownie. The Oreo was too soft, and the brownie was fudge-like, but dry.

Tasty pain au chocolat - Edit
Had a tasty pain au chocolat here recently. Got an Oreo brownie too but didn’t enjoy this as much- it had a strange cinnamon taste. I think the prices are reasonable and it’s nice to have somewhere to get vegan sweet treats in Leiden. Overall would recommend😄

I Scream is a lovely relaxed space in the town centre, with coffee bar, craft shop and co-working space too. The coffee is good, there's a selection of good teas too, and the pastries? Great! The vegan-ham-and-cheese croissant is really nicely done, and the almond croissant too (they're not "light" croissants!). Also some other ace vegan cakes e.g. butterkoek.

They have delicious chai lattes and all kinds of homemade vegan cakes. Highly recommend the banana bread or the chocolate cake. I'm not a coffee drinker, but from what I have heard their coffee is very tasty as well. 😉

I have enjoyed a chai latte with oat milk in this modern and cozy place that mixes bakery, cafe and shop. The bar keeper has explained that he creates the spice mix for this chai latte himself, and you really have to try it!

I love coming here to get some cake. It's always very yum, no matter if you get the one from epicurieus or the cake they make themselves. The staff is really kind and friendly. I also love the kind of shared space they now have with some vintage clothing you can buy and working space you can rent for freelancers. Very lovely concept.
