Comida deliciosa - Edit
Les encantó hasta mi grupo que no era Vegetariano y lo agradecimos todos por lo rico que estaba y lo complicado que habia sido anteriormente en restaurantes no vegetarianos.

Mixed - Edit
The mushroom stew was great, the crispy tofu wasn’t crispy (and with ketchup, should have read better) and the noodle soup was extremely bland. The walnut buns where good

Amazing Buddhist/Chinese food - Edit
Everything is mindblowingly delicious. My favorite was the eel 鳗波排 and the lamb skewer 孜然羊肉串. The 木棉豆腐(”asbestos tofu”)was great as well (funny translation in wechat)

Marvellous! - Edit
Just put the name "慧缘素食坊" at Amap and you'll be able to find it😄all delicious and cheap, food came very fast and the lady working there is very energetic working there, keep an eye on everything and everyone at the same time, she is very friendly and help you to find the restroom and give you also toilet paper. The lotus pancakes were amazing, the steamed and deep fried tofu cubes were impressive!!! The only sad thing was that the fresh pressed juices were already sold out (and we went there at midday). I will come back for sure!!! Highly recommended!!!

Easy to find in Amap - Edit
The easiest way to find this restaurant is by downloading Amap and copying and pasting the Chinese characters into Amap (long press the restaurant name in the Happy cow app).
Read moreAmap will lead you to the building and then it's on the second floor, you'll see the Happy Cow logo on the second floor in the shop window from the street.

Incredible taste and good prices - Edit
Such a great restaurant. We went there 3 times during our 7 day trip to Shanghai. Everything is so tasty! The walnut bread dessert is a must try!

Couldn't find it - Edit
Spent over 2 hours looking for this in the rain and eventually had to give up.
Read moreMy first error was clicking on the maps in Happy Cow and following those instructions. That took me to the K11 mall. I then spent well over an hour combing that, walking around the surrounding blocks, looking for a 'non descript' building. So learn from my mistake and don't do that. I don't think Apple maps is all that good here as it took me the wrong way 2x already today
So my message is, don't follow Apple Maps in Shanghai if you can help it.
I then used the Cow suggestion to go to Dasijie subway station. I walked there and entered the station looking for Exit 2 as described. Only issue is that you can only exit number 2 if you came by train, otherwise you have to buy a ticket. I'd walked and hadn't used the train and so could not depart via Exit 2.. I wish I had bought a ticket if only to go out through Exit 2 as per the instructions because it took me a very long time to work out how to get to Exit 2 from the street.
I did not find a Starbucks as described. I did not find any of the buildings in photos posted by other reviewers, despite walking around all the blocks near the subway. 12000 steps and over 2 hours later (because I am stubborn and thought it could just be around the corner so I kept looking) I was very hungry, had sore feet and had to concede defeat.
If anyone can please give really detailed instructions with photos from the subway to the restaurant, it might help others who got thrown by the challenge. Hoping someone might do that before I go as i would love to try it.
Giving the place 5 stars as it is not their fault I could not find it, it is vegan and past reviewers indicate it would have been amazing.

Delicious range of options - Edit
Amazing place, worthy of top-recommeded on Happy Cow. We tried the orange chicken (my partner's favourite), the braised bamboo (completely new to us, and my favorite), as well as the shiitake and red bean buns. We also got tea. Service was incredibly quick, friendly and helpful and we had a nice window table (there are also big tables for larger groups, and this would be the perfect place to take friends and share multiple dishes). Best Chinese food we've both ever had.

Amazing - Edit
We ate here multiple times and I must say this is an awesome place. It is easy to find, just get in the building and go up to the second floor. The restaurant will be right in front of the elevator.
Read moreThe food was super tasty and the lady who serves the food is a wonder and even knows to speak basic English.
They have a large variety of vegan food and everything we tasted was very delicious. It seems to be preferred by foreigners as we saw multiple foreign people there.
You need to have WeChat or AliPay setup to order here but you will likely have it already being in China.

Excellent - Edit
Cooped up on the second floor of a non-descript high rise building but identifiable by a Happy Cow sticker on the second floor window 😅
Read moreGood service, excellent food, good prices. I had some zhimajiang (sesame paste) dumplings and a Sichuanese dry hot pot packed to the brim with seitan, tofu, veggies, and Sichuan chillies. It was massive and I barely walked away without passing out from being too full.

We ordered via app, some of the translations were hilarious (asbestos tofu and sour E. Coli broth made us giggle). The dishes arrived quickly and tasted great. We would definitely go again.

I struggled a bit to find this, neither the Google nor Apple Maps links guided me to the correct place. I found it by searching “Huiyuan vegetarian huaihai” in Apple Maps.

All vegan, really tasty. Food is mid-level price range in terms of Chinese prices. Flavors are definitely Chinese and not western.

Best Chinese desserts! - Edit
The food is generally good, I had an excellent soup there, but what they are really worth going for is the desserts : small baozi filled with walnuts, jujube and other sesame-mochi like. It's really the perfect place for a tea time!

Had high expectations BUT - Edit
While the staff was very friendly and ready to help the food was meh honestly. Because of the reviews I got very excited and thought it’s really gonna be ‘the best food in China’ but unfortunately the food lacked in flavour and the tofu was very spicy (for my taste)
Read moreP.s I gave them a second chance and ordered different kind of food and it was good actually! Just no soup and no tofu next time, the soup was tasteless. Broccoli dish is my fav so far and wontons (very filling)
