Most dishes you know. Bit westernized. All vegan - Edit

Xiaolongbao very good
Sweet orange chicken too sweet but nice chicken
Kung Pao wouldn’t order again
Chicken tiny pieces and huge peanuts
Ate all but flavours didn’t quite hit the spot
Disgusting toilet avoid at all costs
I love Chinese food here is what I tried
The food is cheap so I paid 21€ for 6 dishes and I have ordered way too much but some reviews said it’s small portions but they were big
So had half for takeout
- bao buns with cucumber and soy
- mushroom buns
- walnut buns
- sweet savoury pork
- tofu

Very friendly people
Pay and order via WeChat so definitely download this - generally for Shanghai! No need for cash
Unfortunately had stomach pain afterwards
But maybe because I haven’t eaten for so many hours because of a long flight and fasting so not sure why
Easy to find see outside pic

Best vegan rest in Shanghai - Edit
I was starving after a week in Beijing. It is almost impossible to find any decent place there. Then we moved to Shanghai and suddenly it turned out there is plenty of vegan and vegetarian places. Last but not least we found Lotus Vegan and we found the food very good. We tested vegan chinese burger, noodle soup, 4 types of dimsums and orange chicken. We will come again and highly recommend it

We loved it - Edit
Get one dish per person plus rice if you’re going to share! Don’t get more because the portions are big. They don’t look that big in photos but they are. We weren’t able to finish our food.
Read moreThe mock meat dishes are great! The sweet and sour one and the kung pao chicken were my favorite. We didn’t love the Dan Dan noodles, the noodles were too thin and there wasn’t enough sauce. The staff is really nice.

Was really glad to find this place with so many options and tasty food. As a westerner I did struggle to work out the ordering system but a staff member was nice enough to help me

This place is so delicious I came twice. I first ordered the chicken mock meat that was in a szechuan sauce- numbed my tongue just a bit. The second I ordered the beef and broccoli dish. It personally liked it but the “beef” was a little doughy. You must try the coconut canned milk drink. It’s the absolute best!!

Great food, nice staff, and easy to find (we caught didi to the address listed, then caught the lift to level 2 and it's right there). Their freshly squeezed orange juice was amazing.

Amazing Food - Amazing Staff! - Edit
We were in Shanghai for 4 days and we ate here twice…. We also got takeaway with us so we could have it in Suzhou (the next stop on our trip). 😂
Read moreThey are a Buddhist restaurant, so all of the food is vegan, cruelty-free, etc. The staff was amazing and easily accommodated for one of our group with a severe nut and sesame allergy.
Highly recommend the orange chicken, chow mein, “egg” and tomato, the lamb skewers, and the sausage.
Pros: Fully Buddhist, Amazing staff, Delicious food!

Tasty and affordable! - Edit
English translations on the menu! But you’ll probably just order via QR code. On 2nd floor which is slightly confusing to get to but not too difficult! Just take the hotel elevator up. Delicious and great variety of options, would come back😄

Varied and very filling - Edit
Many dishes to choose from and notes which ones are spicy and not. I found some of the dishes quite salty in particular the crab paste tofu. The textures were great and there were lots of things that had lots of veg and greenery. I liked that they had such a large selection of Chinese dishes, from the staples to some less known dishes to dim sum and a range of teas (small soft drink selection but includes corn juice… interesting)!
Read moreThe prices are very reasonable, (price is similar to VEGEGOOD also in Shanghai but here you get larger portions) basic soup noodles with veg and tofu for 28RMB meaning you’re tempted to buy a lot of dishes! They charge for Tupperware or you can bring your own. They are friendly and helpful, you order via the QR leading to Meituan on WeChat.
It’s mostly empty on a weekday lunchtime and very fast service.
There are toilets round the corner on the same floor. I found the place a bit confusing to get to as you enter this office like building and go up the lift to get there.
If you write a review on dianping they give you a free dim sum dish of your choice.

Food is delicious and delicate. Portions were on the smaller side, but still filling. I got the orange chicken and it was great, though I’m sure that regardless of what you get, you’ll be pleased and satisfied. It is definitely a restaurant that leaves you wanting for more!
