A simple dish but tasty - Edit
A simple dish - noodles with seaweed topping and soya sauce makes people keep coming back after tasting it.
Read moreWho said a vegan business can't make money? On the contrary, it can also help the owner not only make profits, but also promote Japanese cuisine and a healthy diet without harming any beings. There are 3 branches located near MRT stations in Taipei. They are always crowded.
Originally, they were vegetarian restaurants. Recently they have completely changed into a vegan style.
Animal friends are grateful to you, people like your dishes and I admire you. Bravo to the owner with love.

Best ramen in Taipei - Edit
We went here a year ago and often talked about how delicious the ramen was once we were back home in the US.

Read moreIf you are craving some Japanese udon, this vegan Japanese restaurant, Hoshina, is the place to go.
Their chewy, authentic udon is paired with different soup bases, like curry, miso and kimchi. If udon is not your thing, they also have sets with rice. Be sure to order their tempura as well as it’s well-made and crispy.
Their desserts are also unmistakably Japanese. From warabimochi to matcha ice cream sundae, you will be delighted to find the classic Japanese sweets made vegan. My pick is the matcha red bean sundae. It comes with a matcha syrup for you to pour onto the ice cream, red bean, mochi and jelly cubes.
With 2 locations in Taipei, it is not difficult to find Hoshina and have a great Japanese meal.
Pros: All vegan Japanese restaurant, Delicious food

Vegan Japanese Restaurant! - Edit
Great place for vegan Japanese food! I only have positive things to say about Hoshina. Have always loved Japanese cuisine and it feels great to have this fully vegan restaurant that serves Japanese cuisine and I can simply order any items from the menu. Hoshina is well-known for their homemade udon. Good service, the place is busy - just like other franchise under this organization such as Kaya Kaya, Flourish etc.

Cold Udon for Hot Humid Summers - Edit
The house specialty cold udon is a rare treat for Taipei's increasingly unbearable summers. The more thinly cut noodles come in a sauce that has a hint of yuzu zest and is savoury as well as refreshing. For an even more visually pleasing option, Vegetable Cold Udon is topped with finely shredded carrot, cucumber, red cabbage and lettuce.

Awesome veggie udon restaurant - Edit
How often do you come across an udon place that is completely vegetarian and make their noodles fresh in house? Well, this is certainly a first for me. Their whole menu is vegetarian with eggs and dairy clearly indicated. All side dishes are vegan. How cool is that?
Read moreOur lunch was fantastic. We ordered two hot udon and four sides. The udon broth was light and clean but flavorful; the noodles were handmade in house and got a nice chew to them. As for the sides, I'd highly recommend the black sesame tofu and the veggie-miso pancake rolls. The tofu had a creamy and custardy texture that was just lovely; the black sesame was assertive and slightly bitter, which went really well with the mildly sweet sauce. The rolls were straightforward—veggies wrapped and rolled up in a flour flatbread, smeared with a touch of miso, and cut into bite sizes. So simple, but so delicious. All this food cost only about 25 USD including 10% service charge. What an amazing value!
The location was also very good; it's super easy to get to and is right in a hip neighborhood full of independent shops and restaurants. The wooden furniture and minimalistic décor made for a peaceful and relaxing aura. The staff was knowledgable and forthcoming with suggestions. This has got to be one of my favorite dining spots in the city for casual grub thus far.
Pros: great food, good value, location
