Lovely small restaurant with amazing food. You only get one option, but sometimes that is nice. Gluten free and sugar free. It is healthy and flavorful!

Flavorless and Not Worth the Price!!! - Edit
The chickpeas were a “3” and the rest was absolutely tasteless! The greens tasted as though they were boiled with no seasoning and plopped on the plate! Too pricey for bland, flavorless food. Never again!

Excellent! - Edit
I was driving through and decided to make a stop and was glad I did. I love the format of not having to choose what to eat and everyone gets the same thing. Each item on the plate was delicious! Will definitely return if I am headed through Sac again.

Just what we needed! Everything tasted so fresh, nicely flavored and delicious. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back when we’re in the area. We shared a full plate but if we were both hungrier probably would have each gotten one.

Hooked - Edit
What can I say…I’m absolutely hooked. I’ve seriously crunched numbers and moved items around on my budget just so I can come here 2-3 times a month. I would come more…if I could! Clean and Fresh ingredients. Customer service is great. The owners story is inspiring…stop by and eat and have a chat with them.

Loved it! The items for the day were great northern bean with vegetable soup; short grain brown rice; black beans with onion and carrot; baked daikon, beets, turnip, and rutabaga with garlic; collard greens with squash shiitake mushroom sauce; and mixed salad with basil lemon agave dressing. All fresh, simple and delicious!

Pretty healthy food! - Edit
This was my first time in here. I kind of like that the food choices change daily and that there is only one option. The choices today was a mung bean soup with vegetables which I thought was fantastic. On the main plate there was collard greens with kale and a mushroom sauce, a spring mix salad, split pea that was somewhat soup-like which was pretty tasty, wild rice cooked perfectly, and a mixture of turnips, rutabaga, and beets. I liked it all. I'm not sure if I have ever eaten turnips or rutabaga before today but again, it was all really good. I am a big eater so I would say my only issue was there wasn't quite enough food for me paying $17 but then again, other people may find that it is plenty of food. Nice restaurant overall.

Healthy & wholesome - Edit
This place may not look like anything special, but is truly a gem that Sac is so lucky to have! Their menu changes daily, based on what organic produce is available. Everything is vegan, gluten-free, oil-free, and sugar free, which I really appreciate! Most of the other vegan spots in Sac are junk food, which can be fun on occasion, but does nothing to nourish the body. If you want a healthy, comforting, delicious whole food meal, come here! It’s pretty close to the airport, so should be easily accessible to those staying nearby. #Veganuary

Delicious and COMFORTING - Edit
The food is is so incredibly delicious. The fact that everything is also healthy is a huge bonus. I feel like I’ve had my fill of vegan burgers and wanted something really different… closer to the Earth.
Read moreWith a moderate portion, you get plenty of food.
I felt like this was comfort food without all of the grease or excessive salt that tends to come with that. Everything is really well seasoned, and there is just enough salt in the savory items, which is important because too much salt ruins things for me, but I don’t want to eat bland stuff. Ya know? The food here is perfect.
The coconut pie is a MUST. The texture knocked my socks off. #Veganuary

Eating healthy is easy! - Edit
Himalaya Vegan makes eating healthy easy! Same concept as the Shangri-La line of restaurants in the bay. You choose a full or moderate plate, and it comes with a soup. The food is gluten-free, vegan, and organic. You'll get a green salad, long grain brown rice, beans, steamed vegetables, and sautéed greens. For dessert, they have coconut pie, mango pie, key lime pie, chocolate pie, and Himalaya pie to choose from. I HIGHLY recommend trying the mango pie first, and if you don't like mango, the Himalaya pie is a great choice.

So Delicious !! - Edit
This is one of the best vegan options in the area. I absolutely love the amount of healthy food that you get for the price. Hot tea and water are free and compliments the food perfectly. Although the food may seem repetitive at first glance, the menu does change daily. No plant based burgers or vegan chicken is served here - - But rather a healthy down to basics full regiment of a well balanced meal made of cooked vegetables, beans, steamed collards with sauce, healthy rice and salad.
Read moreIncluded with the meal is a delicious bowl of soup. The meal comes in two sizes- moderate or large. The moderate is a big offering for one person! They also have several homemade pies as desserts to choose from.
The restaurant is mid-sized with a very calm ambiance that includes a gigantic painting of the Himalayan mountains.
Also at the table is an assortment of condiments including a homemade hot sauce with a tasty delivery of heat. The bathrooms are clean and neat.
All things considered, the service provided includes a free dose of loving kindness and a generous portion of gratitude from the owner and staff!

Healthy Vegan - Edit
So many vegan places have offerings that are deep fried and high on salt. The set meal here is so satisfying! It hits the flavor profile but in a healthy and balanced way. Key lime pie was wonderful.
