Nice veg-friendly place - Edit
I went to Habanita tonight with two non-vegetarian friends.
Read moreWe decided to order five vegetarian tapas (you can order 1/2 dishes for about 5 euros or so, and full dishes for 10 euros or so), and we order vegan croquettes, goat cheese with marmalade, spinach croquettes, samosas with feta and mint, and rice with mushrooms. All was very tasty and good, we had sangria which was also very good and in the end we spent 14 euros each.
The atmosphere was nice, and the place was full when we left at 22:30. I think that this is a good option when you are eating out with non-vegetarian friends, and it offers many veggie options (I counted more or less 15 vegetarian dishes).
PS: update August 2016. I've been back to Habanita a few times in the last months and I'm changing the stars from three to four. Not only 75% of the menu is vegetarian/vegan, but also most things are really good (rice and black beans, hummus with raw vegetables, grilled vegetables, Habanita salad with walnuts...)!

Slightly bizarre...but alright! - Edit
We walked in and instantly everyone looked up at us. Honestly it was like that scene from American Werewolf in London in the pub.
Read moreApart from that, the atmosphere was alright - quiet, but the other tables were occupied.
It seems to market itself somewhat as a vegetarian place but it DOES serve meat. The veg and vegan options are clearly marked on the menu, but they are a bit...well, basic. The "vegetables sautéed with rice" was literally just that. Rice with vegetables in it. And when we ordered bread it was a few slices of baguette in a paper bag with accompanying breadsticks in a plastic sachet? It was quite bizarre!
We ordered stuffed pepper as well and that was actually quite nice. We only spent about £35 overall so it was cheap too.
We ate everything so the taste wasn't bad at all - it was just a slightly strange experience. It wasn't the vibe, as the kids would say. But maybe that was just because it was a Monday evening!!
Pros: Vegan and veg options clearly marked, Cheap, Friendly host
Cons: Meat on menu, Very basic and weirdly translated menu, Those breadsticks man.

Very literal menu, super nice staff - Edit
I ordered a dish with potatoes, beans, and rice and that is what I got. That is literally what I got. Just fries topped with black beans and cheese. It was good enough and they had other options. Staff was super friendly!

Muchas opciones veganas - Edit

Good vegan food, friendly - Edit
A great little restaurant with several well-cooked interesting vegan dishes. We had black lentil and tomato salad, yukka in fried garlic, plantain balls in tomato sauce and wild mushroom fried rice. All great and a real change from patatas bravas and grilled vegetables! Recommend.

Great Caribbean/South American Cuisine - Edit
Cute little spot! We really enjoyed the good range of vegan food. Tried and recommend the yucca, falafels, chips (of course), jacket potatoes, and roasted peppers. Prompt service and staff are knowledgeable about vegan options (marked clearly on menu).

It was very good, could be even better - Edit
Food is nice, and there are quite some vegan options, well marked on the menu. Unfortunately, vegan croquetas were not available when I went. For my personal taste, the tomatoes had way too much oil. The yuca was pretty good, not too garlicky, though I would have preferred a fried vegan version. The pimientos al piquillo were super nice, maybe the filling could be improved. The banana albóndigas were an interesting taste experience, I think they can be potentiated by achieving a texture which is less soft. Overall, a nice experience, the waiter was very ready to catch whatever signal and serving times were fast. I would suggest curating better the vegan options and maybe offering some desserts. ¡Hasta luego!

Extremely tasty! - Edit
Our favorite meal in Sevilla! Just delicious with large selection of vegan and vegetarian options in tapas and raciones. A bit challenging to find but worth a few wrong turns. Staff helpful and welcoming. If they had been open the following day, we would have been back.

Room for improvement - Edit
We went here for small lunch and already knew about the rather... simple setting of the restaurant so this wasn't a surprise. The waiter and waitress didn't speak English like most people here but they were still very friendly and with our simple Spanish we managed.
Read moreWe ordered bread, yucca with garlic, croquetas and bananas in tomato sauce because we wanted to try new food. The yucca was delicious but we couldn't eat too much due to the amount of oil. Yucca has a similar texture and taste as potatoes. The croquetas were ok but the filling wasn't really our favourite and the bananas in tomato sauce were a unique mix of sweet and savoury which I'd say was rather good. Unfortunately we weren't hungry enough to try more food.
When we wanted to pay, we wondered about the high price and noticed that there were dishes written on our bill that we hadn't ordered. We told the waitress and she corrected it but when she handed us the new bill, we noticed that once again she had now doubled some dishes we had ordered and we had to discuss it once more. I hope it was just an accident 😅

Great spot for local cuisine - Edit
They have a whole veggie menu here with plenty of vegan options to choose from - the staff also understand veganism so are able to recommend dishes etc.. We tried the piquillo peppers, which were amazing, and the leek and date croquettes which I loved!!! Nice to be able to try some of the local delicacies.

Many vegan options clearly marked on menu - Edit
This is a great little place tucked on a dead end/side street. We grabbed a table in the shade right around Spanish lunch time (2PM). The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. There were a few tourists, plus a table of Spaniards in their late 20s enjoying a long, shared lunch. We ordered a spinach salad with apples, mushrooms, walnuts, and a tangy dressing; a half portion of rice and black beans; the plantain "meatballs" in tomato sauce; coffees. Everything was made fresh and delicious. It came out hot and fast; the service was great. The seasoning of the black beans was fantastic, and the coffee was strong (best cup of coffee in Sevilla for us!). We would absolutely return for another meal.
