Great but could make life easier for vegans - Edit
Tasty and exciting to have a vegetarian pub in Melbourne but it would be good if they label menu items if vegan and note which beers etc. are vegan. Hard to tell as it stands if they have really considered issues re. egg, rennet etc. Annoying to have to ask at a vegetarian place (and waiter didn't seem to know details).

Amazing food - Edit
I had the Sunday roast my wife had the eggplant Parmesan and my daughter had a burger. All were amazing. This is the kind of place to bring your non-vegan food friends to so they can try what real good plant-based food can taste like!

Every dish exceeded our expectations - Edit
Went with my partner’s (who’s not vegan) on his birthday and even he was impressed by the mushroom steak and said that he would happily eat that instead of beef steak!

Great vegan pub meals. - Edit
As someone who has been a vegetarian (now vegan) for most of my life, I’m always excited to find vegan alternatives for food I’ve never tried before. The Sunday roast they offer with yorkshire pudding is delicious! I tried a few dishes/desserts and the only fault I could find is that the steak & mash was a little too salty for my tastes, it was still really good though. I will definitely be back.

Great place! - Edit
We'd passed it by countless times without thinking, as it's not a particularly striking establishment. Tonight, we stumbled upon it somewhat unexpectedly. What a fantastic place. Go eat there! Everything was plant-based and incredibly delicious. The staff was excellent. I would definitely go back.

Lovely pub, food and staff. Has a special 20 dollar burger night on Thursdays. Has a Beyond patty for an option. Their chorizo plate is very tasty and huge!

Great food and service - Edit
We went for a late lunch during happy hour. Ordered the calamari, chorizo cheese and hummus plate, and eggplant parm (which was on special).
Read moreThe fries that came with the eggplant were some of the best fries I’ve ever had. The calamari were so so good (not a mayo fan so I wish there was another sauce, but they didn’t even need it). The chorizo hummus plate was the most surprising part - chorizo was excellent and the house made feta was so great - I couldn’t stop eating it. Truly impressive.
We had a couple of happy hour beers and sadly didn’t have room for dessert but I’d happily come back. Great pub atmosphere. Server was attentive and answered so many questions.

A Deliciously Vegan Institution in Carlton - Edit
We recently had our first visit to The Green Man’s Arm in Carlton, and it was an absolutely superb experience from start to finish. Housed in a gorgeous, classic building dating back to 1925, the venue carries a wonderful sense of history, but the fully vegan menu is entirely modern, vibrant, and incredibly satisfying. While the prices were on the higher side, the exceptional quality and generous portions of the food completely justified the expense.
Read moreThe service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming—which immediately elevated the experience.
For the mains, I enjoyed the Massaman Curry, which was so filling and flavorful that it completely exceeded expectations for a pub offering. The rich, creamy sauce paired perfectly with the rice. My wife ordered the GREENMAN'S CHEESE BURGER (which came with beautifully crispy roast potatoes), and it was a hearty, delicious take on a classic pub meal, proving that you don't need meat to create comfort food magic.
The desserts were the perfect finish to our meal. The Sticky Date Pudding with Ice Cream was warm, sticky, and utterly decadent. The caramel sauce pooling around the vanilla scoop was simply irresistible. My wife's Matcha Tiramisu was a lighter, beautifully crafted dessert, topped with pistachios, offering a sophisticated and refreshing end to her meal.
If you're looking for genuinely satisfying, high-quality, fully vegan comfort food in a great atmosphere, The Green Man's Arm is a must-visit. We left feeling completely full and very happy!
Pros: Fully Vegan menu
Cons: Rather expensive

Yummy, but expensive - Edit
Visited Green Man's Arms yesterday with my partner, and while the food was great I doubt we will be visiting again for a while. Menu selection is somewhat small, but more importantly everything seems more expensive than it should be. Not too bad if you go on a night where they have a deal, otherwise I would say there are nicer places to go at this price point.
Read moreWe ordered the Chorizo platter (meh), King Oyster Calamari (delicious), and the burgers (yum). Also tried the Creme Brulee cocktail which was sensational. Happy to have visited , but think there's better vegan places around.
Pros: Tasty Burgers, Great cocktails, Good service
Cons: Expensive

Sadly no photos as food eaten too fast. Focaccia brioche with starters is divine. Loved the Caesar salad and Massaman curry.

Worth a trip out of town for - Edit
We travelled a bit out of town to experience this 100% vegan pub, and it was well worth it.
Read moreOn arrival, we were greeted by friendly smiles and handed a mega menu packed with all-vegan food and drinks.
We ordered the eggplant schnitzel and the lion’s mane “steak,” followed by the sticky date pudding. The schnitzel was absolutely amazing — crisp, flavourful, and comforting. While the lion’s mane wasn’t quite my cup of tea, it was well-prepared and tasty.
Then came the sticky date pudding — wow, wow, wow! The perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal.

This is a perfect 5 because I love Larb and this was the only good Larb I have had since I stopped eating meat a decade ago.

I have no concept of if this means the whole menu is good, or they just happened to have a meal I love

Excellent Chorizo Focaccia Plate - Edit
We started with the “Chorizo” Focaccia Plate - a delicious sharing platter with the most delicious house made focaccia and chorizo, with their own cashew based feta and a really tasty hummus. So good!

Delicious and different - Edit
Their menu is different than other places with vegan pub food, and I was feeling a bit disappointed at first wanting something like a vegan chicken parma (not eggplant) but we ended up being really happy with our meals! The only thing I personally didn't like was the sautéed greens, which are actually asparagus which I hate. But that's just me. It's not what I expect when I order greens.

Finally I went to the famous pub and did not disappoint. In honestly, is more a restaurant than a pub so dont we afraid of taking that old aunty that likes fancy places. The menu is very diverse and fits all palates. I must say my fabourite dish was the chilli hummus with focaccia, simple and perfect.
