Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
To not to cause harm to other sentient beings. To minimise adverse effects on the environment. To be healthy.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I use HappyCow very frequently to help me find places to eat. I want to help keep HappyCow up to date so I can help others find vego/vegan food too!

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Books by Peter Singer including "The ethics of what we eat" and "Animal Liberation. Books by JM Coetzee including "Disgrace". Australian hip hop artist Chance Waters... His music is great (listen to "Conjure Up" and "Maybe Tomorrow" two of my favourites... And he's vegan!
