Good Options at the Salad Bar.

They have a hot and cold bar, both have vegan options. The bars are surrounded by animal corpses, though - octopus, fish, lamb, cow, etc - so you will just have to ignore that stuff if it bothers you💔 They also have vegan baked goods!

Pros: Good vegan options., Vegan baked sweets.

Cons: Expensive., Animal corpses everywhere., Pretentious customers.

One stop shop for Missoula vegans

At the Good Food Store, the name really says it all. They have some pre-made warm vegan meals like tofu stir fry, enchilada, tofu salad sandwich, and sweet potato shephards pie. There are a few salads, freshly made acai bowls and smoothies, and even a chocolate parfait and vegan donuts.

They also have sweet treats from Hail Merry and other vegan goodies here and there. The staff is very helpful with finding things you need and the other customers are always friendly.

We basically only go here for lunch because they have amazing sandwiches, cold salads and marinated tofu, and a good sized salad bar, along with their delicious vegan chocolate chip cookies and smoothies.

vegan groceries and hot food

This is a worthwhile store if youre looking for those vegan specific goods that albertsons moght not carry. They carry Wildwod Soy Creamer (best vegan creamer in my opinion) as well as other non-dairy creamers, milks, spreads. They have tofurky and the like. They have vegan cookies and donuts. Their veggies are always on point.
The deli now will make a vegan calzone with daiya upon request. They are really responsive to the comment box. If you are persistent they definitely listen. There are other labeled vegan options usually at the hot food bar.

Pros: Vegan specific groceries, vegan calzone is proper

Great Store

I'm visiting Missoula and I wanted to checkout all of the vegan spots around town. I found this store on Happy Cow, of course! My husband and I went in for lunch and went to the food counter. They have a "make your own" section with bowl (rice or noodles) options or sandwich. I chose the sandwich, they have Veganise, GoVeggie vegan cheese, Tofu or Tempeh and all the veggies. You can also make it a wrap with a tortilla or collard greens for raw. Mine was delicious, I ordered sourdough, tomatoes, cucumber, smokey Tempeh, sprouts, spinach, avocado spread, and pepperoncinis. I also had it toasted, YUM!

My only complaint is I had to smell bacon and other meats while waiting for my sammie to be made because they have a hot bar with tons of food. The bar does have vegan options as well. I really like the store, it's nicely set up and I like the look. It was very busy when I went in, lunch time and all but they were very fast. I still like the Natural Grocers better, it's more my style but this one is nice if you're looking for fresh food for a meal.

Pros: vegan options, great looking store, good, fresh food

Cons: I smelled meat while my food was being made, I want even more vegan options

My favorite grocery store!

When I lived in Missoula, I was a regular at the Good Food Store! It's like Montana's version of Whole Foods. They have tons of vegan options and yummy vegan baked goods too! I'm also a fan of their prices (decently low for specialty foods).

What a great find

Stopped in while travelling though Montana hoping to find some organic vegetables as was noted on Happy Cow. Wow was I shocked at the size, quality and options this place had. After loading up on vegetables, I made my way to the prepared food / restaurant part of the store and was in vegan heaven. If I lived in Missoula I think I would eat here everyday!
The place was really busy but had the staff to manage it.

Pros: Abundent vegan options, Friendly staff and fast checkout

New deli is awesome, tons of vegan options!

Love the new renovations. You can now get vegan or vegetarian pizza by the slice for $2.50 everyday. They use Daiya cheese. The wok bowls are great and have very generous portions and can easily be made vegan. Full, fresh salad bar. Full espresso bar. Vegan alternatives for literally everything.

Pros: Vegan pizza by the slice, Diverse selection, knowledgeable staff

Vegan groceries, sandwiches, and baked goods

Good Food Store is an organic grocer, similar to Whole Foods, but with many more local options. You can find many familiar vegan brands: Enjoy Life, Earth Balance, Daiya, etc.

More importantly, Good Food Store is the only bakery in town that has a variety of vegan baked goods: banana bread, chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, brownies, etc. All are clearly labeled "vegan."

At the deli you can get pre-made vegan sushi, make-your-own salad or sandwiches, or get a garden burger or Greek sandwich vegan (if you remove the cheese and sauce in the case of the Greek wrap). The deli also has one vegan potato salad (I think there is another potato salad that may not be vegan) and vegan samosas.

The hot bar has several vegan options each day, and generally always has rice and beans. WATCH OUT VEGANS: many of the vegetables, such as brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes are cooked in BUTTER and are not vegan, so you need to read the fine print at the hot bar. If it doesn't say "vegan" on it, it's not, even if it's a vegetable.

Rumor has it in Autumn 2014 they are adding a make-your-own pizza bar and a stir fry grill --- this will add many more vegan options for pizza and stir fry.

The Good Food Store is very vegan friendly, labels well, and actually makes vegan cookies. This puts them miles ahead of anyone else in Missoula! Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Pros: variety, clear labeling, vegan baked goods

Cons: butter used widely in the hot bar, meat served side by side at the hot bar, vegan sandwiches are not cheaper

Great stop

This is, as others have put it, effectively "Whole Foods Montana". It's similarly stocked with everything a vegan needs (except perhaps low prices, though the prices were not super high, and some things were cheaper than Whole Foods), including yummy cookies, vegan banana bread (excellent) and hot foods. I had some amazing Lemon Tofu. Great stop.

This is the place..

The Good Food Store has lots of vegan options, I don't think there's anything else like this in Missoula. Prepackaged items, baked goods, and food made to order. It can be pricey(in the same way that Whole Foods can be pricey), but it's worth it. Definitely worth going to

Pros: Huge, Friendly staff

Cons: Crowded, Expensive

Name says it

It's a more personal, localized Whole Foods. Everything from take-away prepared foods to earth-friendly products and staples like bulk items and other veggie oriented goodies are here. An emphasis is put on the selling of local produce and goods. Prices are very reasonable and there were many sale items.

Pros: Staff knowledge, A "find" in Missoula, Very good selection

Excellent Vegan Choices!

This store is very vegan-friendly. They offer prepackaged meals, plus they have a salad bar and deli bar with many vegan and vegetarian options. They also have tons of vegan baked good -- all about $1. I recommend the tofu salad, blueberry cake and brownie. Very good!

Pros: affordable
