Combination laksa is so good, various crispy vegan proteins, soaked in the flavourful coconut broth, this single plate will fill you up good.
Read moreI also ordered a tofu dish along with a fried rice. Frozen veggies used, but no complains as it’s a 10AUD. I’m too stuffed to try them out today.

On my first visit here yesterday, I was initially impressed by the variety of dishes on the menu. You need to view the menu on your phone, so take a pen and paper to note down what you want as you scroll through it.
Read moreAlthough my two sons and I arrived at 6pm, the restaurant was already packed full, and we had to wait outside for about 10 minutes. But it was worth the wait. Inside it was very noisy from all of the animated conversations - but this added to, rather than detracting from, the ambience, and I was actually delighted to see so many people obviously enjoying vegan food. Seating included benches along the two side walls, and this allowed for some casual comments with neighbouring strangers without too much awkwardness.
Everything we ordered was delicious - Saigon Taro Rolls, Vegan Chicken With Lemongrass, Pho (with vegan chicken), Saigonese Broken Rice, Banana Rolls with Coconut Cream & Ice Cream and Taro Sticky Rice and Mango (with mango substituted with lychees). Despite being crazily busy, we didn't need to wait long for our food, all of which was beautifully presented and filling.
I'm looking forward to visiting again some time!

Had the banquet meal, and every single thing was delicious - the roast ‘duck’ in particular was a treat. There was a lot of food, too, so good value at $29 a head - and it came with some things I might not have ordered, but which I very much enjoyed.

Went to Golden Lotus this Thursday and weren't disappointed. We had steamed dumplings, stir-fried tofu and veg on a hotplate, vermicelli noodle salad and steamed rice. Plenty of food for two. And so tasty! No course was a let down. The only problems were the noise level and the system of ordering. It was a warm night but we thought King St would be too noisy to sit outside. Big mistake. Also the menu had to be scanned onto a phone. It's an extensive one and we ended up scribbling down our choices because it was difficult to remember, scrolling up and down. We weren't the only ones finding this difficult.

We came with high hopes but left disappointed. All four things we ordered were really average :(
Read more- The duck pancakes came somewhere between lukewarm and stone cold.
- The fried rice was literally plain rice with some frozen carrot and peas (soggy from having been defrosted). No effort add any flavour, fresh ingredients or even to fry it!
- The other dishes were plain and forgettable.
Compared with the much cheaper, much tastier Blossoming Lotus just a few doors up, this was really average!

Huge selection of all-vegan Asian dishes (mostly Vietnamese). Really tasty and friendly service. Highly recommend the pho ordered with the mock chicken and tofu as extra. You can’t go wrong though.

I love this place!! The food is inevitably amazing and so yummy!! Knowing that is vegan just adds an extra to all the special thing that this place is. One of my favourite restaurants in Newtown.

Best Laksa I've ever had - Edit
This is a great fully vegan restaurant with so many options! I adore the Laksa, it has tofu cooked in like 4-5 different ways ("duck" "chicken" etc but it all just tastes like really nice tofu of different textures and slight variations in flavour). The only bad thing I'd say is that the fried rice wasn't that great - my little brother who is generally fairly picky didnt end up finding something he liked which was a shame, but all my other friends really enjoyed their food.

Absolutely loved going here! The noodles are very delicious and filling. I would definitely recommend trying their coconut juice! It was very tasty and refreshing. I even took one to-go. I can’t wait for my next visit!

It is a perfect place (and safe bet) to bring your (non-veg) friends for a feast! My (non-veg) friends love their salted chicken -- come on, we all know the real winner here is their laksa ;).
Read moreAnyway, I have been visiting this place more than once, because they are just so delicious! Be mindful that there's always a line during busy hours (lunch & dinner time; check google maps). Don't fret; the wait is not that long, and if you're unlucky that day, it is definitely worth the wait!

Staff were super lovely, there is always quite a long wait time though. On both occasions I have visited, I ordered different things and was not overkeen. Starters were quite dry and there aren’t many gluten free options. Personally prefer Vina Vegan for an outing. The food was good but not the best I’ve had. Won’t be going out of my way to visit.

During my stay in Sydney, a lot of people recommend I try this restaurant. I wasn’t disappointed by the setting, service and atmosphere! Lovely, lively and great service. I was however, very disappointed by the Rice Noodle salad bowl on their dinner menu. It was mostly all noodles, with a lack of veggies. The dressing was lovely - spicy and not sweet or oily.

Even on a very wet and windy Sunday night there was still a queue to get in but well handled by the friendly staff. Starters (satay and ‘duck’ roll) were a bit dry but mains were excellent.
