Stumbled on while touristing... - Edit
While in San Francisco, my husband and I happened to stumble across Golden Era Vegetarian Restaurant. I had never been there or heard of it, but we were hungry and it was close by. And it turned out to be fantastic! Seriously, a new favorite in San Francisco. Everything we ordered was delicious.

Read moreBARTABLE from Civic Center/UN Plaza location. If you’re on foot easy to get to, near evening night watch your six, especially if coming from Larkin street. Otherwise, please enjoy! The food was just what I needed after a long run around SF.

I love their new location! It’s so airy and allows plenty of light, I remember when it used to be one of the only vegan spots in The City - and now it’s a well known gem!
Super glad I stopped in after placing a takeaway order. Plenty of indoor seating and personnel were super friendly!
I was even complimented while walking back to my fur pal - friendly folks everywhere!
Ordered the Spring Rolls and Chowmein w/Faux Chicken and broccoli. Since I was with my fur pal, I decided to enjoy it picnic style along the shoreline.

The Best Restaurant Hands Down - Edit
This is hands down the best restaurant for vegans and non vegans alike. Absolutely everything on the menu is 10/10 and I have converted even non vegans to love this place. The pad Thai is the best pad Thai I’ve ever had, even back before I was vegan. My other go-to dishes are the spicy sweet potato curry, the banh mi (a newly added item), the tofu salad, wonton soup, spicy kung pao, lemongrass tofu, and the list goes on. I’ve never had anything there I didn’t like. Let’s keep supporting such a great vegan restaurant!

Definitely worth a visit if staying in Union Square. They have a massive menu featuring lots of different Asian cuisines including Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese. We ordered the sweet potato curry which was a highlight! We also got the birds nest noodles and hot pot which were delicious too.

I was hesitant to give this place five stars because it’s “not my favorite” but then I thought about it some more. The portions were big, the food was DELICIOUS (exceeded expectations) and the staff was incredible. Why wouldn’t I rate this five stars?!

Chow fun, crispy noodles $15.95 plus $2. Love the crispy noodles, nice contrast with gravy soaked veggies: Bok choy, carrot, broccoli, seitan meats, zucchini, cabbage, onion, mushroom, tofu, celery. Super tasty. This boy was hungry and knocked off the whole serving meant to feed more than one! Best part of eating in, super hot off the wok and crispy noodles don't get soggy!
Nice ambience inside, outside the neighborhood not so much. Pretty safe during daylight hours. Close to the Asian Art museum

The vegan shrimp is yummy. Curry rice and royal basil rice were good. All the rices are good. Jalapeño tofu is amazing! The lemongrass delux is the best here! The gourmet fried rice is amazing too. Tea is tasty and so is the Mongolian dish. Staff is friendly too. And they have yummy candy bars too!

Didn’t realize it until I sat down at this place but I ate here a couple years ago last time I was in town for the dead shows! This place is top notch and I can’t wait to make it back again. Love the spring rolls, the buhn xeo and the flan dessert is amazing. They have great drinks and I hope to try more of the menu!

There's so many vegan options here and sooooo delicious. I wish I had this in Michigan as I love Vietnamese food but wish there were more places that used mock meats as a former meat eater for that nostalgic taste. I still love all the tofu options though and they have some cool snack options like canned vegetarian pate and even hot dogs.

My family and I have been coming here for many years for lunch, dinner, graduation celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. The food here is delicious and spot on! The vegan meat is delicious! The staff are really friendly. We loved everything except for the pad thai, as I’ve have authentic pad thai growing up with a mom that’s a chef cooking thai food.

There's not much to add to an exceptional restaurant serving delicious Asian cuisine that hasn't already been said. I had the curry King oyster mushroom dish with cabbage and assorted veggies and it was dynamite. The menu is large and has something for everyone.

I can't remember when I ever had a better tasting vegan chicken. I highly recommend tasting the Lemongrass Deluxe, but everything else we had was also very good! I wished we had more time to try more of this delicious food!

I had their most popular dish, Lemongrass Special and added bokchoy It was excellent. It was a crispy chickn dish, moist and not greasy. We included with that, nicely done spring rolls and mushu in a naan like pastry.
