Quick Service - Edit
This is such a sweet spot, with multiple rooms to dine in, a great menu, and exceptional service. They also had beautiful artist created postcards (hard to find!) and pottery to buy downstairs. I got the “shrimp” tacos, which were fried cauliflower. Definitely not shrimp texture and more like fried cauliflower tacos, but absolutely delicious. I loved seeing a clover in the greens on my taco. The guac was so flavorful! I had an unsweetened jamaica, which was perfect too.

Best non-Oaxacan food in town - Edit
While in Oaxaca, we eat mostly at the vegan places that serve traditional Oaxacan cuisine, so we hadn’t tried Glück until the last day, when we happened to be nearby at lunchtime. We’re very glad we didn’t miss it, because it’s excellent in its own right.
Read moreGlück’s current menu reflects a “do just a few things and do them well” philosophy. For mains, they offer an exceptionally good mushroom burger (with a satisfyingly crunchy patty) and an equally sabroso “shrimp” taco. We loved both. (As of July 2023, the other mains options were a burrito, avo toast, and a salad.)
There are good drinks (like the horchata de cacao) and desserts. The chia pudding is very simple and barely sweet at all.
Service is warm and cheerful. The atmosphere is relaxed, light-filled, and breezy, with three small dining rooms that include a cozy one for just two people.
Glück isn’t the place to savor the amazing traditional flavors of Oaxaca vegan-style (for that, we highly recommend Hierba Dulce), but it’s the tastiest option we’ve found for other sorts of creative plant-based food.
Enjoy!

Excellent attention to detail - Edit
4.5 ⭐️ I myself out to lunch and was surprised to find this place was just around the corner from my hostel. I ordered the burger and the tacos, both were delicious.
Read moreI was really blown away at the little details - the restaurant itself had cozy chairs, beautiful art and flowers, the food was nicely styled and came with little intentions on pieces of paper which I thought was cute. It’s my last day here, but I would have loved to have tried the breakfast menu!
My only wish was that there had been a bit more sauce on the cauliflower or it had come with extra on the side.
Pros: All vegan , Great service , Excellent attention to detail
Cons: Expensive

Tasty but overpriced - Edit
We went to have lunch after arriving in Oaxaca and we needed to look for more food after because of the portion size. The prices seem more like the ones back home in Berlin. The food was tasty and it reminded me of what we eat at home. Nothing special but at least they're full vegan.

Sadly no tamales but I had great food - Edit
It’s looking like I might be out of luck finding vegan tamales in Oaxaca unless I decide to make them myself. But I was not the least disappointed with the “shrimp” tacos, ginger kombucha, or fruit tart. I believe the “shrimp” was cauliflower, lightly battered and fried. I was a little surprised to see a “health focused” place frying anything, so be aware if you avoid fried food. The fruit tart could easily be shared between 2-4. (Yes I ate the whole thing: I don’t waste food especially this delicious!)
Read moreThe dining area is upstairs. Since there are varying sizes of rooms, you can choose between a room with one table and two chairs, two tables, or 3-4 tables. For people with larger bodies, you may prefer the chairs I found in the one-table room.

Hit and miss - Edit
I really wanted to like this place more than I did. The staff were really lovely. We went here twice and some of the food is nice the tacos, avocado toast were nice. But I felt the hamburger, sandwich and waffles missed the mark for me. I felt like they cared more about how the food looked rather than the taste. They were fine but nothing exciting. There is plenty of much better food at other places in Oaxaca.

Favourite Cafe in Oaxaca - Edit
This place is so great. I was honestly blown away by the food and by how nice and kind the staff are. It was some of the best food I've had so far in Mexico. The cafe also has a really chilled and anonymous setting, so you can write your journal in the corner with a matcha all afternoon. I had the raspberry matcha, the vegan shrimp tacos and a vegan brownie. They were all 10/10.

Cute and lovely Cafe! - Edit
We had the Chia Pudding and the Avocado Toast, everything made with love and delicious! They had almond and coconut milk with the coffee but they charge you 10MXP extra for that, which we did not understand because it‘s a vegan place! Little bit expensive but worth a visit!
