My omni husband and I had dinner here tonight. We ordered a pot of oolong tea, two appetizers (spring rolls & samosas), and two dinners (seitan pepper steak & pad Thai) both included either miso soup or salad. Everything came out hot and delicious from the kitchen in a timely manner. The check came to just $44. Great place at a great price!

Delicious Food with Fast Service - Edit
We stopped in for a later dinner and had delicious food that came out fairly quickly. We ordered some tofu skin rolls, scallion pancakes, and Indonesian tempeh as appetizers and moo shu vegetables, Sinapore mai fun, and the Malaysian curry for main dishes. We enjoyed all the dishes, although the tofu skin rolls were not what we were expecting. The portions are quite good as well - we were very hungry but still ended up with leftovers.

I was craving some Asian vegan and my favorite spot is forever away! This was a nice little find while doing errands uptown in the city. Tasty stuff. I’ve had better soy protein nuggets.

Even my non vegan family enjoyed the food we had here. We had a little bit of everything. I recommend the General T Soy Protein and the pineapple fried rice, the brownie and ice cream were good.

MANGO LASSI and Other Tasty Thangs - Edit
I've visited Ginger Root three times in the past month and haven't been disappointed yet. Thanks to another reviewer, I ordered the mango lassi on my third trip there and was blown away. If everyone could be so lucky to have one of these, world peace may come about, people would be happier, and the world would be a better place. It's just that good.
Read moreFor me, their strong point is in their starter menu, with so many varied options packed with so many different flavors. Their entrees are also really good, although some are a bit redundant in flavor and appearance, but nonetheless very good. Desserts are supplied by Vegan Treats and reasonably priced. Lunch special menu is very affordable and the portions are generous.
Service is also very friendly and fast. Would highly recommend this spot to vegans and non-vegans alike

This place is great! I was excited for some Asian fare after a long drought and was not disappointed. The food is great. Not greasy at all, spanning a wide variety of dishes. The lunch special is thrifty and a great sized portion. And the specialty drinks including the mango lassi and Thai coffee are delightful. Definitely going to be a repeat offender for me!
