Great food, great service, reasonable price! - Edit

My omni husband and I had dinner here tonight. We ordered a pot of oolong tea, two appetizers (spring rolls & samosas), and two dinners (seitan pepper steak & pad Thai) both included either miso soup or salad. Everything came out hot and delicious from the kitchen in a timely manner. The check came to just $44. Great place at a great price!

Pros: delicious , fast, lots of options on the menu

Cons: none

Delicious Food with Fast Service - Edit

We stopped in for a later dinner and had delicious food that came out fairly quickly. We ordered some tofu skin rolls, scallion pancakes, and Indonesian tempeh as appetizers and moo shu vegetables, Sinapore mai fun, and the Malaysian curry for main dishes. We enjoyed all the dishes, although the tofu skin rolls were not what we were expecting. The portions are quite good as well - we were very hungry but still ended up with leftovers.

Pros: Good variety, Fast Service, All Vegan

The only time in my life I have left no tip - Edit

My husband & I tried this place last night. The food was tasty & we were happy to have found a new place to eat. After we finished our meal and were ready to leave, we noticed the waitress was on the phone. We were right in front of her so it was obvious we were finished. We waited & waited and finally realized she was on a personal phone call. My husband then went up to her and asked her for 2 boxes and the check. She eventually brought 1 box with a lid that did not fit. He then went up to her and asked her again for 2 boxes with lids that fit. She again brought just 1 box. He had to go up to her again & then she finally took away the food & disappeared in the back. She took so long we were about to give up & leave without the food when she returned. She never got off her phone the entire time or apologized, and we left her no tip & will never go back to this restaurant. It was really unbelievable to see a waitress who was on her phone while working.

Pros: Good food

Cons: Worst waitress I have ever had

Good Asian Vegan Craving spot - Edit

I was craving some Asian vegan and my favorite spot is forever away! This was a nice little find while doing errands uptown in the city. Tasty stuff. I’ve had better soy protein nuggets.

Pros: Menu, price , location

Cons: parking

Tasty - Edit

Flavorful food and excellent service. We had so many servers attend to us and everyone was super friendly. The dumplings and pumpkin cheesecake were delicious. Will come back again.

Mostly delicious! - Edit

Loved the Singapore Mai Fun Noodles snd the Smoked Teriyaki Seitan and the eggplant with miso starter were amazing!! However the Green Papaya Salad was a real disappointment, how about taking a stab at home made dressing with fresh garlic, chills and lime juice? And where was the cilantro? Let me know if I can help.

Pros: Tasty noodles and seitan

Cons: Salads making skills needed

Even my non vegan family enjoyed the food we had here. We had a little bit of everything. I recommend the General T Soy Protein and the pineapple fried rice, the brownie and ice cream were good.

MANGO LASSI and Other Tasty Thangs - Edit

I've visited Ginger Root three times in the past month and haven't been disappointed yet. Thanks to another reviewer, I ordered the mango lassi on my third trip there and was blown away. If everyone could be so lucky to have one of these, world peace may come about, people would be happier, and the world would be a better place. It's just that good.

For me, their strong point is in their starter menu, with so many varied options packed with so many different flavors. Their entrees are also really good, although some are a bit redundant in flavor and appearance, but nonetheless very good. Desserts are supplied by Vegan Treats and reasonably priced. Lunch special menu is very affordable and the portions are generous.

Service is also very friendly and fast. Would highly recommend this spot to vegans and non-vegans alike

Pros: Great variety, Cheap lunch menu, Life-changing mango lassi

Cons: None

Good food, reasonably priced - Edit

Excellent location, not too many vegan choices nearby. The food here is consistently good, and as a result, whenever I'm in the area, this is a first choice for me.

fantastic - Edit

This place is great! I was excited for some Asian fare after a long drought and was not disappointed. The food is great. Not greasy at all, spanning a wide variety of dishes. The lunch special is thrifty and a great sized portion. And the specialty drinks including the mango lassi and Thai coffee are delightful. Definitely going to be a repeat offender for me!

Pros: service with a smile, clean, nice ambiance
