Perfect dark chocolate ice cream - Edit
There are houndreds of ice cream shops in Rovinj, but according to happy cow only two with vegan options: this one and the „sweet corner“. I went to both and really have to say that I felt in love with the dark chocolate vegan icecream from the „Italiano“. I combined it with Mango Sorbet and was in ice cream heaven. I even had to go back after dinner for another round... :-) The owners were super friendly and sweet, they explained that everything is made fresh and with original ingredients and no additives (where as in the sweet corner the waitress could not even tell why some of her ice cream was vegan and did not even care....). So please support this lovely family, as it seems to be a tough business to run an ice cream shop in Rovinj anyway...

Gelateria is located just one block away from the main waterfront. Everything that is vegan is marked with a vegan sticker and a capitol "V"

If you're a fan of dark chocolate you'll love the vegan chocolate gelato. Gelateria Italia has a few options available for vegans such as peach, lemon and other fruity flavours. I only tried the chocolate one but it was still really nice. Gelato is very soft and creamy and this was definitely that. Would've been good to see other flavours like vanilla or caramel but those were not vegan unfortunately. A small cone costed 10 Kuna which was reasonable.

Do not miss this vegan-owned gelateria! - Edit
I spent 3 months traveling around Europe and, without a doubt, this was my favorite gelateria of all. The gelato is so delicious, I would dream about it. They make many of the flavors (maybe even all of it) on-site with natural ingredients. For example, I watched them make peach gelato with a mountain of sliced peaches. There is an excellent selection of vegan options, many that rotate. They even have vegan waffle cones and vegan pizza slices from Pizzeria Italiana Alquadrato. When I was there, the vegan flavors offered included dark chocolate (the best!), hazelnut, homemade snickers, melon, peach, coconut, mango, forest fruits, lime, and lemon. On one visit, the owners smiled and told me that they too were vegan. Perhaps with enough demand, they'll transition to an all vegan gelateria - their product is certainly good enough. Love this place. Seriously, get yourself there!
