Ilminster has one main road through its town centre and most of its commerce is on this short stretch of Silver Street. Architecturally the ‘minster’ is the star of the town and stands in church grounds just off Silver st. Walk past this ancient symbol of oppression and the road takes a turn to the north. On this bend, easily missed, is the Gamesmaster cafe. Here you are invited to play with friends or strangers from a large selection board games, or not!
Read moreThey assure me there is always a vegan meal option and often two and the same for cakes! One of owners is vegan so it’s perhaps a surprise they do so much meat but in a small rural English town like Ilminster having the vegan offerings they do is a welcome breakthrough . They have a scheme whereby they are staffed with local kids with difficulties so remember that when ordering.
