Why are we constantly pretending restaurants are good just because it's vegan? It needs to stop!

I got the chana masala and the chickpeas were not cooked enough at all, very hard.
The sauce tasted store bought (it probably all was) no heat, no flavour, no veggies or salad, just bought dryish naan and a yoghurt poured on top that wasn't that bad.
I wouldn't have enjoyed it if I got it for free and it absolutely wasn't free, 15 pounds for that dish 😱 I ate as much as I stomached and left a bunch of chickpeas on the plate.
I never left food before, anywhere.
I also bought the red velvet cake sadly and it looked nice but it was stale, hard, and tasted so bad that I didn't even get through half of it.
I get that people are happy to find something in unexpected places but this is ridiculous.
Staff probably knew their food sucked since they were not very attentive and never asked how it was or anything, even though we sat right next to them and they saw us leave all that food.
Wetherspoons across the street has a few meals for vegans for less money and it's guaranteed to make you more happy even though it's mediocre 😅

LOVE this place! - Edit
This place is so cute and delicious! It’s on an adorable cobblestone street that’s not open to car traffic, which just makes the whole vibe super quaint and special. The food was incredible! We didn’t sample their lunch menu, but enjoyed a blueberry scone, sausage roll, and steak pasty with our coffee. All of it was amazing! We also got some coffee to take home that supports cats in need. We would absolutely go back here if we’re ever in the area again! It was such a great breakfast spot during our quick stay in Fort William.

Nice drinks! - Edit
Small place, cute vibe. Had a mocha which was really nice. Felt geared more towards people into specialty coffee than foody stuff, but didn't actually try anything from the menu so can't properly speak to that. I think simply having two fully vegan cafes in such a small town is so exciting to me though :)

We had only an hour in town, and as the reviews suggested, Wildcat was completely overcrowded during lunch. Thus we ended up here - and were thankful for the much calmer vibe.

We loved our visit here, the cafe had a great vibe and the staff were lovely. We went in for drinks and a cake and they were so delicious! We got some to takeaway for our journey on the Jacobite Train the next day too! Highly recommended if you’re in the area.

Sandwiches are disappointing - Edit
Normally, I love supporting new vegan places. But the sandwiches were honestly disappointing — nothing special and definitely not worth the price. I’m genuinely annoyed that I paid almost €10 for them.

Very cute all-vegan café in the heart of Fort William with a selection of vegan pastry and drinks. Staff was very friendly and, while I was there, they had to patiently explain to several non-vegan costumers which "accidentally" walked in that, no, they do not serve cow's milk :))

Had a cuppa here this morning before heading out on a boat trip. Only opened in March, by same people who own Wildcat, i believe, and it is a really nicely designed space. Friendly staff, who told us it used to be hog roast shop! Hot drinks, cakes and pasties, plus a few other lunch dishes. Nice.
