Great coffee and tasty food

Cute little cafe with a great range of cakes. Veggie vegan options on the menu are limited or non existent but after talking to the staff they were happy to make vegan versions of a few things from the menu. The pancakes were beautiful and deliciously fluffy.

Pros: Staff happy to accommodate dietary requirements , Excellent coffee

Cons: Vegan options not listed on the menu at all, Expensive compared to similar cafes

Beautiful Vegan Food & Loose Teas

The staff were great with sharing their vegan options as they can veganize most of their meals.
We enjoyed red lentil soup with sourdough bread, vegan breakfasts & lovely loose teas.

Pros: Fresh tasty food, Loose teas, Helpful staff

Cons: Vegan options on the menu would be welcome

A Great Find

Loved the almond/pistachio and coconut slice and was stuck for choice with the array of teas.
My husband said the coffee was excellent too.
The friendly staff were so sweet to our dog supplying water and treats for him too!

Pros: Yummy vegan sweet treats, Dog friendly , Fabulous selection of teas

Very accommodating toward vegans and gf

Great Australian style coffee, chai, hot chocolate and milkshakes (all with vegan options). It's not initially clear just how accommodating they can be to vegans, you need to ask, but most menu items can be made vegan and the soup and salads usually are too. An excellent option, particularly when you consider how rural this area is!

Pros: Very accommodating , Vegan cake options, Great value

Cons: Not initially clear that it's vegan friendly

What vegan options?

Visited while on holiday with my husband and son. The menu was limited and mainly breakfast items. I had to ask what are the vegan options and the waitress spoke so quickly I couldn’t make sense of what she said.

If there was options, why not just put them on the menu with a note?

I ended up having the soup as this is the only thing I could understand from the list the waitress rambled on.

Husband had hot chocolate which he said was bland and he left it.

As other have mentioned it wasn’t very good value for money.

Cons: Expensive , Menu isn’t clear

Lovely cafe with vegan cakes and milkshakes

I had a lovely seed cake with vegan butter and a mint chocolate oat milkshake which were delicious. The staff member was very friendly and suggested the milkshake when I asked about their vegan cakes.

Nice coffee, a few vegan cakes and luncheon options

I have visited here twice. I think it is about the best you'll get for vegan's in Stranraer. Generally friendly and accommodating lot - once I went for a coffee and cake - a decent selection of vegan cakes and the coffee great.

Another time I went for some food - there are some vegan possibilities though the server said they'd be willing to make most things vegan. I decided to go for some sourdough bread with avocado smash and humous. It was very tasty. However, the normal menu option comes with I think feta which was excluded. As a result I felt that it was quite a light portion and I didn't feel filled up. I gave the server some feedback (not sure how welcome it was).

My suggestion would be to substitute non-vegan items with something else to keep portions balanced. Also they do charge 50p for non-dairy milk (I don't take any milk myself) but I have major reservations because this is an unacceptable mark up that means no profit margin on a coffee would be more just because someone wants a non-dairy milk. Surely the profit margin should be the same regardless of what milk you take - indeed non-dairy milk is more expensive and so some mark up is acceptable but 50p - come on!

Anyway, if in Stranraer I'd go back.

Pros: Several vegan cakes

Cons: 50p mark up for non-dairy milk

Fab wee place

Absolutely love it here, hit it up regularly for brunch. Food is delicious, loads of vegi friendly options and staff couldn't be more helpful.

The dishes of the day are always a treat and there is always an interesting new option for a vegi foodie to try. Easily the best vegetarian lunch in Stranraer or the surrounding areas.

Pros: Great food, Great coffee, Helpful staff

Nothing was to much trouble

This is a lovely cafe at the top of George Street, offering brilliant artisan ethically sourced coffee, with a selection of non dairy milks. The menu is diverse with a number of veg options, the real treat for the vegetarian are the delicious salads on offer, roasted veg topped with pumpkin seeds was my favourite. Maria the owner told me the soups are vegetarian, and the even have a selection of cakes and meringues that are vegetarian, a real treat in this part of rural Scotland. All foods are prepared in-house and cooked to order, so most things are easily adapted to dietary requirements. It has certainly become a regular haunt.

Pros: Lots of veg food options , positive vibes and relaxed, Ethical coffee

excellent

Excellent, especially considering it's Stranraer and no other options. Would recommend this cafe if it was in Edinburgh or another metropolitan city but highly recommend for Stranraer

Staff are extremely friendly

I visited today and was very impressed. All the salads were vegan and were very tasty. There was only 1 vegan cake displayed, but when I asked they had several. I had a date cheesecake with fruit.
