This place is amazing - definitely one of the best meals of my life!

I ordered the dumplings and pepper strips with rice and salad which was the perfect mix of delicious and nutritious. Good size portion too, I was able to share a lot of the meal with my partner and still definitely had enough myself.

My partner ordered the vegetable pastry and plantains and loved both.

Nice chance to try all vegan carribean food - lots of new dishes we hadn't tried before!

This was definitely one of the best vegan restaurants I have been to. I had the jerk tofu, which was absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes are very generous - it comes with salad and rice, so you will definitely feel full once you've finished your meal. I also took away some blueberry and lemon cake, which was sublime, and can also recommend the watermelon juice drink.

Not only was the food superb and reasonably-priced, but the woman who owns the restaurant was also very friendly and helpful, which made my visit even more pleasant, and the decor and music combine to give the restaurant a really nice atmosphere.

So, in conclusion, I cannot praise this restaurant highly enough, and would recommend it to vegans, vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. I will definitely be returning soon to try some of their other options!

I really enjoyed my meal here- I had jerk tofu which was lovely- creamy on the inside, tasty jerk spice crispiness on the outside. Served with delicious greens and rice and beans... yum! Also had an amazing fresh pineapple juice which was almost like a smoothie it was so thick :)

Veganism is often seen to be reserved for the white and privileged, and think places like this can help shake the stereotype; it's in a not-so-posh area of town and while we were there at least three Caribbean parties (groups of friends and families) came in to eat, in fact I believe we were the only non-Caribbean customers.

The owner is a lovely lady who is super friendly and makes you feel welcome :)

it was nice to have a change from veggie Indian, vegan Chinese or traditional veggie with the Caribbean / Jamaican cuisine. ackro and tofu was good. the lady who runs the place was very friendly and helpful. well worth a visit.

I have been to tons of vegan restaurants all over the world and this is seriously one of the best. Everything we ordered was incredible and the owners were so nice and helpful. The prices were really cheap, only £2 for big appetizers! I highly, highly recommend the akee and tofu, one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life. Couldn't recommend more highly! The curry and the jerk tofu were also INCREDIBLE.

And you must try the sorrel juice, SO good.

We visited Fi Real last night and I had to make a post right away. The food was out of this world (I got the Caribbean curry chunks; my husband got the ackee and tofu; and our friend got the jerk tofu) and the owners were so so sweet and friendly. If I lived in Bristol I'd come here every day! As it is, I'm definitely coming back and I'm bringing all of my vegan friends :)

The food was delicious and freshly made, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great :) Even the decor was beautiful. Definitely worth 5 stars, couldn't fault it at all. They even do a take out menu.

I went to Fi Real a few days ago on my Birthday and it was incredible. I was made a vegan birthday cake which was absolutely amazing. I could not have asked for anything better. It was incredible. I went into Fi Real later to have a meal, and the choices, even though they were limited on the night still offered a great selection as everything was vegan. I was treated great and everyone was so friendly. I cannot reccomend Fi Real enough to any one. Even my family are not vegetarian, they really enjoyed the meals and it was nice having something different. 10/10

We came along, because of the novelty of eating at a Caribbean vegetarian restaurant. Having worked in one myself a few years back, I know the difficulty of a veggie/vegan option, and it was limited to veggie soup.
Me and my vegan partner both ordered a tofu fish dish, with plantain, rice & peas, and dough balls. The food was heaven! Without doubt, the best vegan/veggie fish I have ever come across. The plate was filled with great food, which all tasted very healthy, yet completely satisfying, and great value for money. The only issue is the location is a little isolated, and it was almost empty when we ate for lunch. The staff were very friendly, and great to chat to. Highly recommend!

First time in a Carebbean restaurant, so it is a bit hard to judge compared to other vegan places. Ackee & Tofu and Vegeballs were tasty, a bit less the Ital stew. the juice was really enjoyable. the difference between an average place an fi real is the owner, a very friendly and kind lady that made our dinner more than pleasant.

It's unfortunate that as a vegetarian, when you hear about Caribbean food it doesn't feel very exciting since there do not seem to be many opportunities to eat at 100% veg places.

So this is an extra incentive to check this place out. We walked up toward Fi Real from Castle park through a slightly shabby part of town that doesn't give any hint of what lies ahead. After seeing a number of closed down shops on the street, it was surprising to walk into this bright and very clean place.

We had the ackee and tofu dish which was delicious, along with a side of fried plantain, unfortunately we weren't staying in Bristol for long otherwise we would have come back to try some of the other stuff on the menu.

The selection on offer did seem slightly limited when we were there, but I expect they can expand it in time.

They also have interesting an sorrel ginger drink which tastes very natural and fresh (although perhaps a little sugary for my taste). They seem to have added some more ginger/pineapple drinks, I would definitely also check these out if returning.

The manager/owner is a very friendly lady who is happy to answer any questions you have about any of the food.

Mmmmm.... Very tasty Caribbean food. Very fresh and flavourful. Worth the trip!

We had Sweet and Sour Tofu, Ital stew and blueberry cake. Highly recommended.
