Small portion, average food, big price - Edit
Sorry but I'm not a fan. My heart sinks when I see my meal take up a small portion of the plate, artistically arranged. Occasionally a restaurant wows with exceptional taste, but in this case the taste was good, but no better. Great staff, good wine, overpriced food. My wife said that it was better last time she went, but this time her cauliflower main was "disappointing". I've forgotten mine already.

Up market version of Zefferellis - Edit
This is our go to place in Ambleside when we want something a bit special for an evening meal. It's owned by the same people who have Zeff's and Ambleside Manor so it's veggie but there's always vegan options. Lovely ambience and attentive service.

Restaurant is a bit nondescript from the outside but go inside and the decor is lovely. I couldn’t believe the number of vegan options ! I got the lentil and cashew nut roast and my sister had the stuffed courgette. Both were amazing and so well presented. Desserts were really nice too.

Zefferelli's posher big sister! - Edit
We usually eat at Zefferellis when in Ambleside, but decided to try Felinnis tonight. We've eaten here a couple of times before but haven't yet reviewed it. We were suitably impressed: most of the msins were vegan, and quite a few also gluten-free, although there were fewer choices of vegan starters snd puddings. We both had the puy lentil and cashew nut roast, a rather less rich version of the wellington served in zefferellis: the nut mix sat on a layer of boulangerie potatoes, all wrapped in pastry, and served with smoked hispi cabbage and a red wine gravy. Delicious. We then shared the only vegan pud, a chocolate and hazelnut 'delice' served with raspberry sorbet. This was superb: served with a tuille, chocolate soil, and crunchy sugary crushed nuts. It looked a picture. Not much more pricey than Zeffs, but a much nicer and more imaginative range of mains to choose from. Will definitely return (and the menu seems to change more than Zeffs').

Went here for brunch and had a delicious vegan full English, particular highlight was the sausages which were so so good! Staff also lovely and nice location and ambience in the restaurant

Incredible food and recipes. Delicious wine. Everything labelled clearly for vegans. Classy, elegant yet comfortable setting. Nice aesthetic and atmosphere with good music. Friendly and attentive staff. Only downside was not many vegan dessert options - the hazelnut and chocolate delice wasn't what I was feeling. Not what you'd expect in the middle of the Lakes but really worth visiting.

A Serene Fine Dining Experience - Edit
This is the most amazing restaurant for vegans who want to celebrate something special. The restaurant is relaxing yet very refined and the food looks and tastes delicious. Portions are just right even though you think that being gourmet they might be a bit small, and there are so many dishes from which to choose. Very good value for a fancy meal out.

The menu was mostly vegan and everything looked good. We got the movie meal deal so we went to the studio cinema upstairs first and then had a two course meal afterwards. It was pretty good value altogether and the food was so well prepared. The portions were maybe on the small side but there are plenty of side options to add to your order. Really cool that there’s been a veggie restaurant with an indie cinema for so long in this town!

Good central location that serves zero meat. Server / manager was kind to us and everyone else , nothing too much trouble but seemed a tad understaff at times. Quality of food was good. It's just pricey so a treat for us not somewhere we can go too often

Wonderful food, wine and service. I had a leek and mushroom tart followed by stuffed mushrooms. It was all beautifully cooked and presented. Flawless. The wine was great too. Only wish I'd had room for dessert!

As a surprise, I was taken here for my birthday back in May. When I sat down and saw the menu I was so happy they had vegan options and expected my partner to have a separate omni menu, so it was extra special to find that it was in fact a meat free restaurant.

I had a glass of prosecco, and we kicked things off with the homemade breads with olives, which were divine. I then dove straight into the Puy Lentil and Cashew Nut Roast with Boulangere potato, Roasted Vegetables and Peppercorn Sauce. Followed by the Gooseburry & Ginger Crumble with sorbet and a double espresso, the meal was simply outstanding.
