Yum! - Edit
Farmer's Kitchen Cafe is a great find in Davis. They make only gluten free products on the premises (they do have one regular bread they have shipped in, so if you need gluten free just be sure to specify) and they serve organic and local foods and have different ethnic dishes. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. It was very obvious that she is very passionate about what she does, and that definitely came through with the food. They were very accomodating and had some great vegan options. I had a very flavorful black beans and rice dish, that came with pickled jalapenos, pearl onions, and carrots. Their menu changes often, so be sure to check their website for the most current menu (there is an icon on the right side of the page to click for the file). Some of the food is pricey and portion sizes on some items is on the small side (entree items were fine but sandwiches were small). Also, it is a small place with few staff, so don't go if you're in a big hurry.

Limited on short notice - Edit
Farmer's Kitchen Cafe is a farm to fork (and totally gluten free) place that purchases all produce from local farms. It is focused more on people who pick up their meals for several days or a week at a time (they deliver, too). They do have sit down service as well. It is very "home cooked", focused on nutrition, and delicious. If you order by phone in advance, they will make sure they have options for you or make something special. They always have their bioregional salad, which is whatever got picked on the farms that week. They have a rice and beans dish which has an egg on the menu but can be made without. They do not have a large set of options on any given day, but the menu changes weekly, so there is variety over time. If you give them notice of several days, they will tell you what they can do. NOTE that the breads (which are GF) ALL HAVE EGG in them. They may have hand made crackers that do not. It is an interesting place that needs a flexible mindset. I have had them cater meals for my office and the food was very flavorful.

Not for vegans - Edit
This cafe does not have much for vegans. They seem most focused on the GF movement.
