A fair option

To be in the middle of the mountain and far from the big city and having some warm and edible options it is worth the visit. It might be your only option.

More tagarninas, please

El Torreón is a useful find in Grazalema, which is not exactly teeming with vegetarian and vegan options. It has a separate vegetarian menu; I tried the croquetas de tagarninas, which were very nice (but seasonal). What are tagarninas? I was told in Jovenes Flamencos (qv) in Arcos that they're a kind of wild asparagus; however, Wikipedia seems to think they're a type of edible thistle. This was washed down with a couple of glasses of Quadix, an excellent tinto de la tierra de Cádiz. Oh, and maybe a wee orujo blanco for afters.
