They have a lunch menu with 2 options of each course so we tried everything. The food was good quality, the presentation could have been more nice, feels like eating in a canteen ;)

Si ser vegano, y vegetariano por qué no, es una declaración de intenciones en muchos aspectos (ya sean éticos, morales, ambientales, de salud y humanitarios), El Fogón Verde toma estos valores sumando el activismo social más directo. Bajo esta premisa ofrecen una cocina agroecológica, cooperativa y vegetariana. Posición digna de aplaudir.
Read moreEn lo estrictamente culinario, ofrecen un menú diario (exceptuando los fines de semana) que puede contener platos veganos y vegetarianos por igual. Se puede elegir un plato de tres opciones posibles, distribuidos en primeros, segundos y postres. Yo hice lo propio: como era un día lluvioso de otoño, disfruté la crema de betacarótenos para calentar el cuerpo, luego un espectacular pastel de boniato y acelga con salsa de tomate, y para acabar, natilla de cacao.
Con el ambiente castizo que rebosa el sitio ya me tenían ganado pero su personal atento y entregado me convenció del buen hacer de esta propuesta. ¡Viva el cooperativismo!

El día que comimos aquí el menú era todo vegano, aunque el restaurante es vegetariano. El concepto agroecológico y el ambiente son de compromiso y responsabilidad, algo que ojalá adoptaran más lugares. El trato fue muy amable y la comida estaba deliciosa. Los platos estaban tan ricos que olvidé hacer fotos. Probamos unas papas aliñadas con proteína vegetal, una musaka de lentejas y un gratinado de verduras, que estaban genial. Para repetir.

Read moreThere were three starters and three mains to choose from, all vegan, and three vegan desserts plus one not vegan. There is an English as well as the Spanish menus, explaining what's included in the menu of the day.
The broccoli and nutritional yeast soup was very satisfying, and I really enjoyed my crepe with vegetables and tofu (though the menu said tempeh). The mushroom and chickpea stew was good too. The cocoa custard was lovely.
A great experience and great value for money.

Ein Dreigänger zu € 15,50, Essen Nährstoff in bester Qualität.
Die Menüs sind reichaltig, sehr gut und frisch zubereitet, kein Aufgewärmtes industriell Vorgekochtes, alles selbst zubereitet und so wie ich das verstanden habe, kochen sie lokal, saisonal und beziehen ihr frisches Gemüse von einer Kooperativen.
Insbesondere hat mich beeindruckt, wie gut sie ihre Kürbis und Zucchini Lasagne und andere Zubereitungen so fein und kompakt zustande brachten, ich habe sie zerkleinert und diese ist nicht zusammengefallen. Man merkt, dass sie ein gewisses Können an Kochtechniken beherrschen.
Ich wünsche der Gruppe einen langandauernden Erfolg ! - Ich wünschte mir, mehr Restaurants oder Tavernen würden mit so viel Herz und Bewusstsein existieren. Es gab einen Grund, weshalb ich 3x hin ging.

Set menu. Lots of veg which many vegan places are missing opting for meat or the like substitutes. I had the cream of leek soup and chickpeas for main. Main maybe a tad on the smaller size. El Fogón Verde is a great place to stop for lunch. They offer a menú del día including 2 main courses and a dessert. I had beetroot and carrot soup, a soybean and vegan chorizo stew, and a pear crumble. It was great value for how full I was! The atmosphere was very relaxed, perfect if you're eating by yourself. Some of the dishes may be only vegetarian, not vegan, so ask the waiter before you order.
