El Fogon Verde

Quite nice interior, close to the Prado museum, and the staff were friendly, which are the only nice things to mention about this vegan friendly restaurant.

What it comes to the food, it was lacking in taste and the dishes had so few ingredients. The starter was a soup with spaghetti and some paprika flavor, without salt, without any flavors to speak of.

My seitan plate with couscous, which was the main course, was plain and the seitan bits (tasted gummy without any flavor). My friend got a mixed veg plate that was just cabbage and chickpeas.

Although they say they're completely vegan, they had dessert that wasn't vegan.

All in all it cost 15€ per person, and for that kind of money I cannot recommend this place. There are much better alternatives for example in Old Madrid district.

Kind and friendly staff serving healthy and tasteful dishes! I posted a photo of their seitan :) Happy to have eaten here and will return.

The food was delicious and fresh and healthy. The menu changes each day and is posted outside in English and inside on a board in Spanish. it is a set 3 course meal and you get 2 choices for appetizer, mains and dessert. We really liked the garbanzo bean soup, the tofu with sweet potatato and ginger drink. Very good value as only 11 Euros including drinks. The staff are very helpful.

Amazing place. It has become my favorite veg restaurant in Madrid. Organic, fair trade food and delicious vegan and vegetarian meals. The staff is also very nice and the price very affordable.
