An oasis in San Cristóbal - Edit
So glad to have found Leo's little restaurant which serves fantastic fresh food. His menu features a variety of Mexican classics with a vegetarian twist as well as some creations of his own all served with warm hospitality. If you need a break from the usual fare offered elsewhere you'll be refreshed by the food here and greeted with great friendliness. I couldn't recommend Delicias Naturales more highly.

Amazing pesto, lentil burger, and owner! - Edit
Such a cozy homey spot, and Leo always makes it fun to visit😄It’s mostly vegan, save for the option to add cheese or egg to dishes. My favourite dish is the hearty burger made with the pesto and another homemade dressing, veggie toppings, and a homemade flavourful lentil patty cooked up on the spot. The cacao balls for dessert are also super good.

Simply delicious food in a cozy atmosphere! - Edit
I had come across this restaurant through Happy Cow and saw its many reviews. I checked it out in advance to ensure I knew where it was and that it would be open as found some of the opening hours on Happy Cow and the restaurant did not always match. Met the chef who confirmed would be open tonight and to pop in around 7. Had to make sure reservations weren’t needed as only seats 10, but not necessary. The chef was extremely friendly, chatty and had spent time cheffing in Berkeley California, Windsor Canada and Budapest Hungary and his English was excellent! He highly recommended soup of the day sopasdeverduras and had only one portion left. So delicious and homemade! I decided to try the burritos filled with beans served with vegetables and a salad. Very filling! Also tried my first kombucha which is made on the premises- Jamaica. Liked it! For dessert enjoyed vegan banana cake with cacao and banana sauce. Truly spectacular meal which I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish! Highly recommended when in San Cristobel!!

Tasty food and friendly people - Edit
I had the menu of the day - soup to begin was very tasty (although could have done with a bit more of it). Then I had a vegan burger with the chips and that was fairly good. Reasonable value for money although better priced elsewhere. The owner was chatty and friendly. Just a small little place but worth a look.

Disappointed - Edit
The reviews made this place seem very promising. So did the ambiance, and the friendly staff. But the food was not all that good. The burger looked great but immediately turned into a greasy disaster. The 'grilled vegetable burritos' were soggy veggies from the soup of the day in a tortilla. It was all quite oily and bland. There is much better vegan food in town.

Thank you for your response, negative people seem to be always unhappy no matter what you do. Most of our reviews are 5 stars so the place and the food speak for itself. Maybe when you find some happiness within, you will start to change your views and perceptions.

tasty and friendly - Edit
This place is cozy and has a great warmth to it. The owner was super friendly and was very accommodating. It was my last night in Mexico and I wanted to eat tacos but they weren't on the menu. They made me a loudly plate of tacos with veges and black beans with a side of some really yummy not too spicy salsa. Then I had their soup and some delicious banana cake. They also have homemade kombucha.

Great little place - Edit
Great vegetarian/vegan food. The owner is super friendly and in the process of converting to 100% vegan. They make all food and sauces from scratch including their own plant based milks. The flavours of the food are fantastic. We had the potato entree, special of the day, and banana cake - all were great. What's even better is when you see someone so passionate about preparing and sharing their food in an intimate setting.

A little underwhelmed - Edit
After reading the rave reviews on Happy Cow we were a little underwhelmed by this place. The menu has a number of vegan options but the chilaquiles and burrito we got were both just OK (chilaquiles very sloppy and burrito lacking in flavour). The owner was very friendly. They miscalculated our bill and tried to overcharge us but they rectified the problem when we brought it up. It's very small so gets cramped and noisy.

Must go when in San Cristobal - Edit
We loved this place! First of all, great food and drinks and vegan options. We hadn't had lunch and were quite hungry so being used to small portions both ordered a starter and a main, but portions here are very good so we even had some leftovers (place offers doggybags). we had salad, curried potatoes, burritos and pasta and it was all tasty.

Delicias Naturales would already be awesome if it was just about its delicious and affordable food. You won't be disappointed with a veggie burger or burrito with a homemade juice, and the fried korean celery balls entry is just amazing.

I think the other reviews have probably said it all. The place is very small, it's a five or ten minute walk from the centre of town, but just round the corner from Le Gite de Sol, which is where I stayed.

Not exactly a veggie burger, but great nonetheless - Edit
This is a very tiny spot that will be packed in the busy season. The food was excellent although they veggie "burger" is more of a lentil spread, so if you're looking for some sort of patty, you'll be disappointed. It was very good anyway and this seems to be the M.O. here in San Cristobal. We tried 3 different veggie burgers and none of them were true patties. The agua del día was incredible, as were the desserts.

He also sells legit coconut oil that he jars himself. This was great for us after throwing away the garbage they were selling in Mazunte.

We arrived in San Cristobal in the evening and were starving, so we headed out to Delicias naturales right away. Both of us ordered the veggie burger as we were both taco-d out. The lentil burger came open faced on a fresh toasted baguette with avocado and tomatoes, and a side of melon.

This restaurant is on the main drag in San Cristobal but it's another couple blocks down from where most of the action is. It's a tiny little restaurant with only a few tables and a connected kitchen in the back. As we were there they were leaving for local markets to get some of their ingredients. It is run by a man and a woman and their daughter was hanging out too helping with menus. They were all extremely pleasant and the man also spoke english very well and had lived in the U.S. for a number of years.
Read moreThe menu was very small but I did not mind because the food was great. All the food is vegetarian and most of it can be made vegan too. I got a veggie burger which was amazing and my father got a sandwich that he thought was very good. They also had juices, waters, and sold just a few products like coconut oil.
They had vegan chocolate cake for desert. Like most baked goods in Chiapas, they use a lot less sugar than we do in the United States which I appreciated. The cake was quite a bit dry but otherwise was good.
I highly recommend this hole in the wall kitchen.
Pros: extremely friendly staff, vegan options for dishes
Cons: small menu
