One vegan option, but it's pretty good.

The only vegan option is a stuffed plantain with vegetables and rice, which is very good.

Delicious!

Everyone was very friendly. My food was plentiful and moderately priced. There are limited vegan options (I went with the stuffed pepper, rice and beans) but what they have is really good. I am very sensitive to salt and the food was salted to perfection.

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, Delicious food, Family feeling

Cons: Limited vegan options

Friendly and flexible

Despite usually being crowded, my friend and I were immediately about to sit at the bar. The waitress shared that they had two vegan entrees available— we ordered one of each. The stuffed avocado was good, although some of the pieces were not ripe yet (therefore hard to bite through). The other entree- a vegetable pasteles was tasty and the beans and rice were outstanding.

Pros: a couple vegan options

The food is good but be prepared to stay for 3+ hours

Despite the limited vegan options available, the food is well prepared and fairly tasty. Some of the staff even offered to prepare a stuffed avocado plate despite that not being a menu item. The biggest set back for this place is definitely the wait time. They’re almost always full to the point of having an immense line outside of the restaurant, and once they do serve you, you’re left waiting hours for the check to come.

Such a gem!

There was a line around the building to get in and now I know why. Yes, the menu was somewhat limited but we asked for one of “everything” and the food was the star! One of our favorite stops along our way. I think their menu changes on what’s available to them. I would have bought a case of their house made green sauce!

Food is great but limited

There’s only one vegan option on the menu now - the vegetable stuffed avocado. It was delicious (try the hot sauce it’s amazing) but the service was fully abysmal. I don’t really blame them because the other tourists there rude, but I am a big softie and don’t love rude wait staff even so. I think it was worth the wait (about 20 minutes, they load big groups at a time) but the service is very meh and there’s only the one vegan entree. Lots of vegan sides, though.

Pros: Great food, Fresh ingredients

Cons: Limited options, Expensive, Poor service.

Excellent food

I loved how accommodating the staff was and the food was much more flavorful than anything I’ve eaten in Old San Juan so far. My friend and I shared the stuffed plátano with vegetables and rice and beans, and the pastel.

Pros: Delicious food, Flavorful, Authentic Puerto Rican cuisine

Cons: Lots of meat options
