Delicious

I was having A LOT of trouble finding vegan food due to a lot of false advertising online at many restaurants stating they have vegan food and they really don’t. I finally found this small but cute place. The server was awesome and very helpful, he made a few recommendations and I was not disappointed!

Good food and great service

We stopped to eat after wandering around Old San Juan. I liked that the menu was clearly marked and several options could also be made vegan. I got the bell pepper and it was delicious. Also had some tostones that were just about perfect (crisp on the outside and soft inside with just the right amount of seasoning).

Qué Rica Comida/What Rich Food!

The food here was soooooo delicious! I had the carrot and lentil dip and v-Steak Sandwich with Tostones and ketchup mayo on the side. Dishes are made fresh to order and you can taste the difference. Wait staff was lovely and helpful.

Pros: High quality and delicious food made fresh, Friendly staff, Good portion sizes

Cons: Just a few vegan options

Good place with vegan options

Friendly staff. Different juices like Acerola. I got the pepper and it was great. Fair number of vegan options and the staff knows how to make the plates vegan (most of them are vegetarian). Highly recommend it when in Puerto Rico! Would come back.

Delicious, cute spot!

Came around 6:30 on a Friday and enjoyed a delicious dinner. Got the V sandwich (waiter said that was the most recommended) but there was many different vegan options to pick from. I got mine with tostones and they were delicious, esp with the vegan chipotle mayo.

My friend and I got the kale salad to split and I think you could forgo that one—it was fine but would have been better if dressing had been massaged into the kale!

For meat eaters, my friend got the pastelon and loved it.

we came during the san sebastián festival so there was a limited menu. we got the two vegan sides that were available and the waitress offered to bring us vegan aioli to dip our tostones and fries in once i told her i was vegan! their normal menu has lots of labeled vegan options so i love to come back during a non festival time!!!

Vegan options clearly marked

After a full day of traveling, the hominess of St. Germain was so welcome with its friendly staff and selections of comfort food of soups, sandwiches, and dips. Went with the eggplant marinara because it was my first real meal of the day. It was hearty and filling and what my body needed. Pro tip: cut the eggplant and mix in its garlicky goodness with the sauce. It's fried well so it'll keep its crunch and shape. It made me crave for a flat plate instead of the bowl the spaghetti came in. Managed not to splash too much tomato sauce.

Happy hour from 3 to 7pm, $5 dollar drinks and discounts on the breaded eggplant and yucca montadito (which can be made vegan). Ask for Alex; he makes a mean margarita.

Great veggie friendly place in old San Juan

Loved this place—ate here two days in a row. The V-Steak was outstanding. The veggie burger was meh—mushy. But the drinks and juices were great, service great, and not as expensive as some of the other stuff around. Also really well air conditioned, a must in the blazing heat.

Pros: Food was flavorful and delicious , Good vibes, Not expensive

Cons: A wait to get in even though open tables, Only one unisex bathroom stall so a line

Lovely cafe in Old San Juan. Delicious drinks and food with plenty of vegan options. I had the vegan Romesco sandwich which was very tasty and did come with a vegan cheese. Highly recommend!! We enjoyed it a lot.

Tasteful, beautiful, and filling vegetarian options in a relaxed setting

For context, I went here while on vacation with my two meat eating friends during Spring Break.

Venue:
Lovely relaxed atmosphere (basic wooden benches, chairs and tables, etc.). Very small inside, but very clean and pretty and was cool enough without blasting A/C. We walked, but there appeared to be street parking outside (though it would be tight as it was in most of OSJ)

One waitress seemed to have all of the tables (we went there Friday at opening). We did a bit of waiting, but the server was good and she made an excellent drink recommendation. The bartender pitched in a bit in bringing out drinks and clearing plates.

Drinks:
-Lavender Lemonade - was ok but a bit bland. Wouldn't order again.
-Caribbean Cheery Juice - VERY good and had an unexpected sweet, tropical flavor. We all really liked this. 10/10 would order again.
-St Germain - a little too spicy and sweet. We mixed it with the lemonade and it was much better. TBF the waitress said she didnt like this one, but the curiosity got us anyways.
-GuanaMash - recommended by the waitress. It was the perfect cocktail. Very light and refreshing!

The soup of the day was Broccoli Potato with microgreens, and one friend loves beets so we ordered the Beets and Goat Cheese Appetizer. I was surprised by the presentation, but it was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

My friends split a Tuna Panzanella and I had the Romesco Sandwich with Tostones which I made them both try. I also tried a bit of the salad that came with their tuna and it was delightful - both the dressing and croutons seemed like the were made in house and the veggies were very fresh and flavorful. The Sandwich was surprisingly filling and flavorful - I'm used to having the vegetarian option be a lackluster afterthought. Tostones were crisp and flakey, but a little salty.

2 cocktails
2 juices
2 appetizers
2 entrees
Came to about $100 before tip. I thought this was fair considering the quality and thought put into the meal. I wouldn't want to spend this every day, but will happily pay this for a nice vacation meal with friends:) We cleaned our plates and would happily come here again.

Pros: Interesting flavor profiles, Vegetarian items seem a priority, Clean and visually appealing site

Cons: Potential wait since its a small shop

Yummy Dinner in OSJ!

Great place to find some good vegan food in Old San Juan! I got the Eggplant Marinara, which was well-seasoned and very tasty. My husband got the V-Steak Sandwich with Tostones, which was also a hit and the tostones came out perfectly!

Pros: Vegan options, Friendly staff, Yummy cocktails

Perfection

The food is amazing here. Don’t look further. It wasn’t very full but we went in anyway. We were blown away. The food was delicate, refined, the service attentive yet unobtrusive. The music was fantastic. What a gem Old San Juan. On par with the best vegan restaurant in San Juan (Aovara, Chef Jerome) and Washington DC (Oyster Oyster). Not to be missed. Don’t be fooled by the deceptive bistro fair. The dishes would not be out of place at a five star fine dining restaurant. Perhaps just needs some tablecloths and fancy flair but we are just as happy with the relaxed bohemian vibe it lovingly exudes.

Pros: Food, Service, Drinks

Cons: Lack of vegan desserts

Really delicious sandwich

I had the V-steak sandwich and it was really good. The umami taste of the mushrooms with a sweet plantain made it delicious. The fries were also nice and crispy.

Pros: A few vegan options and substitutions, Friendly staff, Good ambiance

Cons: Only brunch on the weekends until 4pm, Cozy space

Lots of options!

St Germain lives up to the hype. It was great to find a vegan friendly restaurant in the heart of Old San Juan. The staff was friendly, food was tasty, and I can’t wait to go back. I had the yucca baskets with lentils, and La Fabi salad, along with a St. Germain cocktail (obviously).

So many Vegan options!!!

Delicious food, amazing staff, reasonable pricing and a neighborhood street cat made this our favorite place to eat in Old San Juan.

I would have given it five stars but the app won’t let me since they serve meat.

Pros: Tons of vegan options, Super friendly staff!

Vegan BLT

The waitstaff is very knowledgeable about their vegan options. I have the BLT, which was one of the best I've ever had! The eggplant was cooked perfectly and the bread was delicious. I also got the chipolte vegan creama which was delicious! My friend got the veggie burger, which is only vegetarian because of eggs, also absolutely delicious!!

Pros: Hidden gem, Gorgeous cafe

need more can options but the 1 entree is good

I saw this place on Happy Cow and a few other vegan sites so I wanted to give it a try. The only menu I could fine was on Google reviews from over a year ago. When I arrived and saw the menu I was disappointed that there were no 100% vegan options except an appetizer and only one main dish that could be modified to vegan aside from a few salad options. I decided on the stuffed red pepper modified to be vegan (no cheese). I had low expectations BUT it was really tasty and the portion was really big. The atmosphere and service are great, but I wish they had more vegan options.

Pros: Good service, Pretty restaurant

Cons: Only one entree that can be MODIFIED to vegan

Great food, okay service

Service was slow and our server couldn’t recommend anything from the menu. She didn’t seem to have much knowledge about the food so maybe she was new. The food was great. I had the carrot and lentil dip with pita bread and the stuffed pepper without cheese. Both were wonderful and came with enough for two meals. This is our last day in Puerto Rico and my husband said this was the best food he had during our entire visit. He’s vegetarian and had the special sandwich with fries. They didn’t have anything available for dessert because the cook forgot to finish making it so that was disappointing (and a little weird).

So good!

There are several vegan options and some of the vegetarian options can be modified to be vegan. For lunch, we ordered a delicious vegan eggplant stew with criollo sauce, plantains, avocados and quinoa, the Don Pedro salad without cheese (mixed greens, black beans, plantains, avocado, and cherry tomatoes, with a vinaigrette dressing), and a vegan brownie. Everything was delicious! Also the service is friendly and atmosphere is cute. Highly recommend.

Pros: Several vegan options, Local flavor, Pleasant atmosphere
