Moroccan salads

I've noticed that "Moroccan salads" is my kind of dish in Fes, so I ordered it here too and was satisfied with those 9 small plates that I got. They were olives, pickled carrot, babaganoush, cauliflower spread, zucchini spread, zucchini pieces, tomato-cucumber-onion salad, fava beans and brown beans. 55 dirhams with bread.

The waiter said that vegetarian pastilla includes egg (but no cheese or butter).

The restaurant is now on ground floor, there is a small yard on the street level and many outdoor tables.

Tasty and substantial vegan plate

Contrary to another review, staff were very friendly and welcoming and spoke good English. We had the daily plate which involved many delicious salads and a sweet-tasting pastilla for main, followed by Moroccan tea and biscuits. Double check with waiter than pastilla is vegan.

Pros: Great views of Fes from above, Relaxed and peaceful above Médina din

Cons: Steep stairs to top

Great Classic Moroccan Food

My partner and I had a feast here. The mixed salad in particular was incredible, with about ten different plates of salad-type ingredients coming out. I would definitely return here for that. Be aware it is 140 dirams each. Does include entré, mains and dessert though. Desert was three biscuits each - two were really nice, the third one had butter in it though. It was fine becasue the waiter told us this, but given we had already listed butter as one of the things we don’t eat it was a bit strange.

Pros: Amazing mixed salad

Cons: Very expensive by Moroccan standards

Good option with a view!

Ate their vegetable tagine (which I believe is their only vegan option). It came with a side of lentils, olives and bread - a lot for 1 person. Everything was flavourful and the setting is pretty. I’d recommend it as there are not many vegan options around!

Huge portions, good Moroccan food

We went to this place one time.
Even though there are labels with directions, it is quite difficult to find the place. But worth the effort.
The portions were huge and the food tasty.
We ordered 2 vegetable tajines and they came with a lot of bread, salad, olives, sweet pumpkin mash, etc.
The staff was not very friendly.
There are just a few vegan options in the menu.

Pros: Huge portions, Tasty food

Cons: Difficult to find, Staff not very friendly, Few vegan options

Fantastic find!!

This was the most delicious food I have eaten in Morocco to date. Wonderful choice and helpful staff, even though we need to use google translate. There was so much food when the salad came out I was shocked. Really fantastic. Highly recommend.

Pros: Huge range , So much food. , Wonderful surroundings

Cons: Difficult to find but not impossible. , Not much English.

Excellent Vegan Couscous!

Not only is this restaurant traditionally and beautifully decorated, but the food and service are excellent.

Like many of the places in this area, this restaurant is not so easy to find, even with GPS which does not work well here.

I had the vegan couscous, a variety of olives and smoked eggplant. All were excellent. The owner speaks English well, and he is super helpful.

He is developing a separate vegan menu.

Highly recommended!

Pros: gorgeous decor, great food, great service
