Tasty vegan options

National Trust cafes always have a reliable selection of vegan options, and Wallington is no exception.

Pros: Houmous and falafel salad, Cookie, Soya latte

Good enough selection of food

Stopped here on a trip to Wallington. We had the vegan sausage sandwiches with extra hash browns, which were great.

Several vegan options

National trust places are always decent and this place is no exception. I had the vegan margarita pizza and it was actually quite decent.

Vegan options

National Trust have decent vegan options at their cafes. The pizza van (moving to play area Oct 2024) has vegan pizza with vegan cheese, several of the bakes are vegan (scone, flapjack, choc chip cookie), vegan ice cream and soy/oat milk for drinks

Get the cauliflower pasty

The cauliflower pasty is delicious - I’ve had it pretty much every time I’ve been to this cafe. They do also have plant mills for coffee and a couple of vegan cake options. Their coffee isn’t great - it’s a super dark roasted cheap coffee and their cakes have normally been underwhelming. However for a national trust cafe I’d say it’s not bad, and at least they have one delicious option.

A welcome surprise

There's not a great deal of vegan options in the surrounding area, so it was a welcome surprise to see this cafe in the grounds of the beautiful Wallington Hall have some decent options available. We each had the curried cauliflower pasty, which was delicious and packed full of flavour. We also got a scrumptious scone and a flapjack, but the flapjack was a bit dry and bland. There is also a lovely seating area outside where you can enjoy the stunning views and it's nice to know there are options here if you do plan a visit to this national trust site.

Pros: Decent vegan options , Outdoor seating and views, National trust site location

Cons: Few more vegan options please 😊
