Tasty food & decent options - Edit
Sweet potato and coconut soup was incredible. Scone was gorgeous and fluffy. Sarnie was nice. I had sausage/cheese/onion chutney. Cake was okay but not much flavour. I asked for the brownie on the board but apparently that was wrong and then they had ran out of the pasty too. Service a bit slow at the end of the day too. But all in all a good spot, with well labelled and tasty food.

Fabulous afternoon tea - Edit
Had the most incredible and filling afternoon tea. Sandwich was absolutely massive, as was the steakless pasty, scone and biscoff cake. And so so tasty. £25.50 was expensive but not unreasonable in today's money! Would deffo recommend. And gluten free options too, although limited gluten free vegan.

Vegan afternoon tea - Edit
The best afternoon tea we’ve had in a long time. The separate vegan menu is perfectly adequate with a number of options. My wife (vegetarian) and I (vegan), ate there 21.5.25 and the food and service were top class. For vegans, the pepper and hummus sandwich was substantial and tasty as was the soup which was well seasoned. To follow I had the vegan scone, spread and raspberry jam. No room for the cake but we took the leftovers home: boxes provided no problem. The service was excellent. Highly recommended if you want a great vegan or vegetarian afternoon tea in peaceful and historic surroundings.

I came here for a work event (Sept 2021) and the manageress had put me a plate on one side and generally looked after me. I had scone and a wrap. She knew about veganism and ingredients etc. The shop sold some locally made vegan gifts too.
