Quite disorganised

Running errands in the east gave me a good reason to try out this place finally. Wanted to try the grilled chicken chop but was surprised I’ve ordered the wrong item when placing my order, though I pointed to the correct one on the menu to the staff.

Take note the popular chicken chop in mandarin is called “鸡片” (chicken pieces), but I didn’t realise there’s another type which is chicken fillet called “鸡扒”。

No receipt nor order number is given so you have to keep a lookout for yr order to be called when it’s ready; but it can also belong to another customer who has ordered the same.

Ci Hang, Singapore

Chinese venue with a nice lady serving. Food is fairly predictable, tasty enough and affordable enough but unremarkable. The menu doesn't mark vegan items.

Its OK if you're near but doesn't merit a special journey to eat here.

Pros: Affordable

Cons: All vegan is always better

Lady Owner very rude. Food taste need to improve

I’ve ordered the signature dish hai nan chicken cutlet. It’s the worst dish I’ve ever had. Peas is uncooked and sauce is tasteless and like water and tomato sauce only. The whole dish ingredients only peas, tomato sauce and fried chicken and rice.
It cost $7.
I told the staff it’s uncooked can cook again or change another dish?
The staff immediately told me it’s like that and without asking, she threw the whole bowl of rice away in the bin Infront of me and refunded the money $7. I felt it’s very rude and she embarrassed me. She should re-cook or changed another new dish. But at least bother to explain why it’s uncooked.

Western, Chinese, Local Selection

I particularly likes Ci Hang as their food tend to be less salty. Food are not particularly impressive but serves a good generous portion of comfort food. Located next to Aljunied MRT and there’s parking lots in front of the shop.
Order and pay at the counter. Help yourself to the condiments corner. Your order will be called and you can collect at the counter. Toilets are quite clean.

Healthy Organic foods

They were serving nice healthy foods that's great, now they are still as great. I've been patronising them since 20 years ago and now their food maintains the standard. My preference for them is because so healthy yet tasty. I don't experience phlegm or dry mouth after eating. Their portion for Vegan fish mee hoon is big enough to gratify my appetite. I finish it off with a healthy red bean and barley dessert that's just the right amount of sweetness with the original bean taste. The lady still heats up for me in a pot as the weather is rainy and cold. It's satisfying after my meal. I'm sure to be here again.

Braised chicken set worth trying

Tried their braised chicken set, the chop is good, generous portion, the mashed potato is quite solid, very filling. The salt and pepper deep fried mushroom is delicious too, worth trying.

I love Ci Hang

They serve healthier option veg food and I like it especially the saltiness remains constant. My usual hang out for lunch, love the food taste and variety.

Pros: Healthier options compared to usual veg eatery😄

Cons: Slightly more costly

Helpful staff + Great Variety of food

Had the green Thai curry, a daily special, with brown rice and a cup of warm organic soy bean drink. Curry was pleasantly seasoned (no msg), each element of the vegetables in the curry was tasty (think they have been sauteed and seasoned prior to mixing it in the curry). Big serving sizes for one person. Enjoyed every bite. Curry wasn't oily and on the broth was lightly seasoned. Goes very well with the rice. Organic soy bean drink was delicious, no sugar added. Very fragrant. Cafe was clean and peaceful. Staff member serving me was very helpful and friendly.

Pros: Lots of options

Cons: None.

Great service and delicious food.

Our family of four adults arrived in the evening and it was obvious that they were preparing to close. We said we understood and were prepared to leave but they made us feel really welcome and happily served us, apologising for the fact that some dishes were not available. They showed us a menu with clear pictures and descriptions written in both languages. The food was delicious. I had organic fried vegetables, grilled eggplant and brown rice with a sweet hot sauce. Family had soup and dumplings. Serving four adults who are not familiar with the food is not easy but to do it at such short notice when you're preparing to close was incredible. I highly recommend you check this lovely place out.

Pros: Great service, Delicious food, Friendly, helpful and very patient.

Great food

Loved the mushroom noodles. Probably has a lot of vegan options, but the menu isn't clear. Still, tasty food. Also, they are closed on Friday.

Expensive for what it is

Not a great space... Doesn't inspire appetite. Food isn't particularly tasty or nutritious (I'm conscious of macros as I think many veg places overdo the carbs/sugar and neglect the protein and micro nutrients), and prices fairly exorbitant for what it is. Yet it must have legacy as it is often crowded.

so so

Food;
- Fish chop without gravy ( due to gravy contain cheese)
1.Normal in taste
2.suspected mushed potato contain margarine
( not sure if margarine is vegan or not???)
⚠️All western dishes gravy contain cheese
3.serving quite small

Service
Watch out !!! Food owner will ask you to reuse your own plate if order some small snack :(
She will also nag /mumble that they have to wash a lot of plate .

Pleasant but unremarkable

Nice little restaurant/shop, cool and quiet. You tick the boxes on a printed menu, hand it over to the friendly staff and collect your food when it's ready. I tried the vegetarian steak while my wife had the deep fried prawn (fake of course). I'm a big fan of fake meat style veggie food and I'm sad to say that both dishes were incredibly bland. The rather dry and chewy vegetarian steak was served with French fries (which would have been useful to know in advance since I also ordered a plate of fries to go with it) plus a spoonful of baked beans placed on some lettuce - a very odd combination. My wife said that the prawns had no flavour whatsoever.
I regret not having the chicken rice or fish curry like other diners as these looked much more appealing, but seeing the 'steak' on the menu had intrigued me. Wrong choice sadly.
In my experience I would have to say it was very expensive for the portion size and quality of the food. Not one I'll be checking out again. There's a small veggie stall several doors up on the left with more choice and better prices which I will try on my next visit to the area.

Pros: Quiet and peaceful, Pleasant staff, Air conditioning

Cons: Food was bland and unappealing, Overpriced

Peace ...

Vegetarian Fast Food Eatery with ORGANIC Menu

CLOSED ON FRIDAY Chinese & Western Vegetarian Fast Food Eatery with ORGANIC Menu

Located in Geylang Vegetarian Food Paradise, next to Aljunied MRT.

This simple eatery opened since 1994 used to be a popular Western Fast Food for Vegetarians with a taste for comfort 'junk food' has now move toward offering a good selection of healthier Organic Food (the trend).

It serves Organic Set Lunch with Less Oil, Less Salt and no MSG, Alfalfa Sprout Salad, Healthy Cold Drink, Organic Coffee/Tea, Organic Fruit Juice/Oat Drink.

This place is a favourite with Caucasians.

We order the Vegetarian Steak which is actually Mushroom Steak - a good alternative to real steak if you don't consume beef. The mash potato is flavourful and recommended.

For a more healthy meal, just leave out the deep-fried items (a little bit oily) such as the Taiwan Salted Chicken using mock chicken meat or Fried Mushroom which is like Tempura mushroom but come with chilli sauce instead of usual Tempura dipping sauce.

The Organic Wheat Grass Juice is light and fresh but with no added sugar - very natural.

It is SELF-SERVICE and to order, just get the Menu Order Form from the Counter and write down what you want and pass it to the Boss. Quite fun!

IMPORTANT, this eatery CLOSED ON FRIDAY!

Must Tries: Organic Mea

Pros: Healthy Organic HomeStyle Food, good value

great taste

Open from 11am - 9 pm daily, except for fridays. Not open on fridays.

Here at Ci Hang, all the food are a la carte, not those where you can pick the dishes. But they do have a wide range of dishes to choose from, like western specialties, spaghetti, and chinese dishes including chicken rice, ba kut teh noodle soup etc. They also have brown rice.

The food there is simply delicious, with a very 'homey' taste that satisfies our liking very much. The sliced fish rice meal has a special veggie fish. Unlike those common long 'strips' ones, their's are exactly the same shape as the real fish and have the same colour! It tastes like the real thing and smells like it too. It's good for those looking for fish alternatives.

They also have nice drinks like bubble tea and juices. And along the sides of the restaurant there's shelves with veg snacks like cereal, seaweed, vegan mayonese, organic drinks, vinegar etc... But some of these products contain dairy though.

The service is great and the food is served fast. Highly recommended :) a really great, warm and welcoming place.

Food price ranges from around $3-4 per meal, drinks around $2, depending on what kind of drink. Some meals like spaghetti (i think) and some drinks like the bubble tea will cost around $5+, so do bring enough cash!

Pros: superb food, welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff
