Traditional chocolate and churros with vegan options

All churros are vegan and they also sell vegan hot chocolate, with a choice of plant based milks. I had almond milk in mine and it was tasty. Churros were nice but not amazing.

Pros: Helpful and friendly staff, Vegan options, Quick service

Cons: Churros not the best

SO chocolaty good!

It was everything I dreamed it would be! We had vegan churros with decadent, dark chocolate, and coffee with oat milk. We even poured some of the chocolate in our coffee, we didn't want any of it to go to waste!

A bit mid

Les churros sont assez bons I guess, comme les churros de fête foraine ? Le chocolat vegan est très très dense, pas possible de le boire pour mon expérience. Si vous venez à plusieurs, partagez une tasse de chocolat, ça suffit amplement😉

Great Churros / Porros

The churros / porros are perfect. My friend who had the milk chocolate said it was perfect, too. The vegan chocolate was pretty good but I‘ve had better.

Vegan churro and hot chocolate in the center of madrid

I've tried churros and porras with their hot dark chocolate. I found the chocolate less creamy than I would have liked. They also have the option for a coconut-based vegan hot chocolate which is probably better, but I haven't tried it. It's still a good option to try the whole churro experience in the center of madrid

Vegan options available but a bit bland

It was relatively easy to order a vegan option. The churros are vegan by themselves but you need to specify that the chocolate should be vegan. It’s also possible to order gluten free ones and these are served on a black plate.
Came here for nostalgic reasons. I was a bit underwhelmed- the churros weren’t as large as I thought they would be (still nice) but the chocolate was a bit thin in consistency and should be thicker.
Service was a bit slow - especially with our coffee. Not sure if I would return.

Pros: Easy to order vegan option, Conscious of allergens

Cons: Chocolate for the churros was thin in consistency , Churros were a bit small , Service slow for coffee despite not being busy

Vegan Chocolate Churros

Good vegan churros, the chocolate saus was a bit ‘thin’ but we enjoyed it! Friendly staff.

Decent vegan choc option!

Churros are nice and crispy and the chocolate is mixed in with a coconut milk. Not the best churros I’ve had, but happy to have them in Madrid! Also loved that you walk in, order and pay, and then sit down and they bring your food. No waiting around after eating to pay.

Chocolate and churros

I was over the moon when I found out they had vegan churros and chocolatesauce.. I think the chocolate was good but the churros could have better taste.

Perfect Churros

You have to order at the counter and therefore need to know already, what you want. The vegan chocolat costs 1.50 extra, but it's better quality (less runny) than the non vegan one. The churros are perfect. Not too sweet.

Pros: Vegan chocolat, No queue as in the other places.

Cons: You pay extra

When in Spain!

I had to try them. They were good. We ordered at the counter and waited at the bar for our order. We watched them plate them from a bowl of premade ones, and then waited for the coconut based chocolate sauce. I would have preferred the churros hot and made to order. The chocolate sauce reminded me of hot cocoa with an ever so slightly thicker consistency. Overall, I would do it, just for the experience. I didn’t seek out another restaurant option.

Gluten-free churros & Vegan chocolate

Churros are traditionally vegan... But what makes them special here is that they can make them gluten-free too. As per the vegan chocolate, it was thick and divine.

It's worth noting that it's a popular place, so it felt a bit chaotic. It's not easy to understand how it works so here what we had to do:
1. Order what you want at the entrance till, give your name and pay (specify if you want to sit down or a takeaway) - minimum spend to eat in is 8€
2. Queue at the counter with your ticket to collect your chocolate/drinks
3. Wait until someone brings you the churros (gluten-free ones should come on a black plate)

Price (May 2025): 4€ for a portion of 4 churros, 5€ per chocolate

Chocolate and churros for the full experience.

I was doing the Rick Steves audio walking tour in Madrid and got a bit disappointed after the ham shop and the chocolate & churros place that I was apparently missing out culinarily in Madrid. Until I wasn't ;)

Vegan chocolate and churros!

Everyone goes to San Ginés chocolateria just a couple blocks away, but I like this place way better. It's more local and more importantly, they have vegan chocolate! They also have plant milks for coffee. The churros are thin, like the style here. You can also get the fat ones if you want though! You just have to ask. Ordering churros is by default the skinnier ones here!

Note: Happy Cow reports limited options and asks for updates but this is a chocolate and churros place, that's why you come here. Not sure what other vegan options there could be beyond vegan chocolate and churros, which they do have.

Pros: Vegan chocolate! , Plant milks for coffee

Good!

There is basically vegan chocolate with churros set that is plant based on the menu. Everything was delicious but the ordering system is not very clear (there is no printed menu available) and churros were not that large.

Nice churros

They told me all the churros are vegan. About the chocolate, it can be prepared with water or plant milk for a vegan option. I recommend ordering vegan chocolate with coconut milk!

It would be nice if they had other options like vegan sandwiches. I think the only other food you can order is toast with tomato and oil.

Pros: Creamy hot chocolate, Crispy churros, Friendly staff

Cons: Few vegan options, No table service

Very good churros

These churros were amazing and they serve them pretty quickly! However, I believe it is the only vegan option, which is why I rated it 4 stars.
Even drinking the chocolate sauce was really good! As it cools down, it’s like drinking a warm pudding. It isn’t too sweet at all, it was perfectly balanced.

Nice treat

Very busy and had to wait a while for our order. I think they forgot about us as others who came in after us had theirs before us. More expensive that others I walked past but didn’t try

Churros!

I really liked the churros. I don’t know if I understood well but the waiter said to me that all the churros are vegan. I also tried the horchata and it was really good.

Meh

The chocolate was a bit thin, the churros crispy but it could be nicer, ordering at the front before being able to enter, with no menu is a weird choice.

Churros!

I thought the churros was a little underwhelming and the chocolate is PLENTIFUL and a little too sickly for my personal tastes but you have to go. It's just the done thing.
