We came in for a quick late dinner and planned to stay for only 30–40 minutes. I even pointed this out and explained to the manager that we didn’t need the table for long. Since there were several empty tables, we politely asked if we could move to another one. Instead, we were shown a dirty table with a dirty ashtray on it, and it wasn’t properly set up.
Read moreWhen I politely pointed this out and said that this was not acceptable for a restaurant of this standard, the manager responded in a very rude and dismissive way. Instead of apologizing or trying to resolve the situation, he told me that I “don’t understand” and that they have been working for seven years and everything is fine.
What disappointed me most was not the dirty table itself, but the manager’s attitude and the way he spoke to me. I couldn’t help noticing that the attitude seemed to change after we switched from speaking Arabic to English. I can’t say for sure that this was the reason, but that was the impression I was left with.
For a restaurant that presents itself as a high-end place, I would expect much better organization, professionalism, and especially respect toward guests. Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression, and I would not return.

Excellent range of vegan options - Edit
Probably the widest range of vegan options I’ve found in a non-vegan-specialist restaurant in Egypt, I ordered lots to try lots and it was all fantastic. Dying to go again to work through more of the menu.

Vegan options - but better food elsewhere - Edit
The food was good however very overpriced for the portions and quality. Limited vegan options (although some dishes can be made vegan by removing ingredients). I personally preferred the Mexican options a few doors down at Bodega. Worth going if you are with a non vegan and need options. The place itself is lovely!

Very few vegan options - Edit
The menu had quite a lot of vegan options: 2 or 3 were vegan and a few others that could be made vegan. However, of all the options, only the 2 vegan options were available for ordering. Maybe it was due to the fact that this was low season as we had the same issue at other restaurants in the area. The food was very tasty and priced reasonably.

The restaurant has a few vegan options, which are mostly labeled. The waiters know what vegan means and can explain what the dishes contain. If you're a vegan in El Gouna, I can definitely recommend eating here, just make sure to make a reservation, since it's pretty popular.
