WOW. WOW. WOW.

THE best vegan pastries I have EVER had! The Ube and Earl Grey croissants were a standout. Also, the batista makes an amazing espresso! Don't know how she does it, but she's a magician. Be sure to visit early though, they always seem to sell out by noon, which is a bit of a bummer. We went at 11.30 and they had 4 croissants left and nothing else. Which is a shame.

More than just a bakery!

Quaint, friendly service, amazing French-style pastries, and delicious food. I’ve been here several times over the years.

You order at the counter (where you can see all the delicious pastries!) and you are given a number to place on your table for your food to be brought to you. There really are so many choices (see the photos of the bakery case) but I neglected to take a photo of the drink menu.

Today, I had the feta omelette and chocolate croissant. Gorgeous presentation and perfect taste and texture!

Chaumont Vegan is a find! Don’t just go if you happen to be in the area; make it a destination.

Some complain that it is not REALLY a vegan establishment because it is attached to its non-vegan counterpart. To me, this is a plus.

The original non-vegan place used to offer some vegan options. But it seems demand was so great, they expanded to offer a fully vegan space with many more options! (I think this happened in 2021.). So, rather than put them down, I choose to celebrate them.

Thank you Chaumont for first offering some vegan choices and then bringing us even more with a dedicated space next door.

They’re not a vegan establishment, non vegan place that has split up their menu into two buildings

They sell non vegan pastries and then next door they have the vegan pastries. So this is a loophole they’ve created calling themselves a totally vegan place, which is NOT true. If a restaurant sold dairy, meat and eggs but then had a separate vegan menu they would not be labeled as a vegan restaurant. It’s shady to label this place as vegan

Cons: Not a vegan establishment

Best croissants in LA

Fully vegan version next door to non vegan bakery and cafe. Excellent pastries and lots of options. Hard to find parking . (I don’t think this should count as a vegan restaurant, since it’s connected to its non vegan cafe next door, so only giving it 4 stars instead of 5)

Best Vegan Bakery in Los Angeles

The variety of croissants are so flaky and would probably fool anyone who isn’t vegan and the other food options are also delicious.

Not really a vegan business, very nice nonetheless

I don't think this should be listed as a vegan business, since the vegan section is just a part of a larger non-vegan bakery and business.

With that out of the way, the pastries are fantastic! Loved the pain suisse and the earl grey croissant in particular. The brunch was more of a miss for me but I'd like to try more from the menu.

Pros: Excellent pastries, They aren't stingy with the cream fillings!

Cons: Disappointing brunch, Not really a vegan business, Slow service

French Bakery with Style and Flava

It’s a delight. Go for it. The Hammond cheese croissant was scrumptious. They are brining in artisan cheese. Worth it.

Mixed feelings

They have many options, but also many reasons for a lower score. The pastries were kind of hard/stale (another review mentioned they heated them up for them, so maybe you have to ask?)

The setting is also pretty cramped and loud. Overall everything was good enough, but I was disappointed after going out of my way and paying $15 parking to visit an overrated cafe.

My new fav

Wow!
I didn’t expect my shakshuka to be SO GOOD. The poached eggs were perfection. I have been vegan for 6 years and never had the chance to eat a “vegan poached egg” this was absolutely delicious and so well made.

Phenomenal!

Managed to get there just before closing. So glad we found this place (thanks to Happy Cow app). Hands down the best savoury vegan pastry I have ever had. Loved the festive theme to the pastry I bought too! If you are in the Beverly Hills area you MUST try!

Pros: Sooo many delicious options, Phenomenal flavours , Friendly staff

Bakery heaven

Chaumont Vegan has exactly what I look for in a good bakery. A well stocked, exciting selection of sweet treats with a couple of savory options and a small breakfast menu. The rosewater cream stuffed croissant was so good. And the pumpkin cream cheese roll was yummy, too. I would eat here every day if I could

Service is really prompt and friendly. There's a lot of seating indoors and a little bit outside. I hope some day that every major city can have a vegan cafe/bakery like this one!

Great place for brunch or a treat

I stopped by Chaumont twice during my 1-week stay in LA and this place has by far the best pumpkin spice latte I’ve ever had. We had the egg croissant, regular croissant, chocolate orange croissant, almond chocolate croissant, and the pan au chocolat

Everything we tasted was delicious. We had brunch and grabbed a few pastries to go. The omelette and the shakshuka were excellent. I most enjoyed the cream cheese and guava pastry: the tropical flavors were incredible.

Beautiful

Such beautiful pastries! We had the rose and earl gray croissants along with a savoury scroll that had olives, jalapenos and zataar which was my favourite! Also tried the shakshuka but I didn't like the texture of the egg white (the yoke was impressive). When we got back to our hotel we realised they had thrown in a choc orange croissant for free, so kind 😇

Pros: Visually pleasing, Great variety

Cons: Menu items are small for how much they cost

I loved the smell of the bakery as soon as I walked in. My favorite was the pizza pastry. IT WAS SOOO GOOD! I will miss the poached pear in my oats. The pistachio pastry still lingers in my mouth. Yum! My new favorite place!

Vegan delights a plenty

This was our first stop after arriving into Los Angeles and freshening up at our hotel! It didn’t disappoint! We had chocolate custard, rosewater, apricot and a jalapeño and olive croissant/pastry. Yes we shared them! The coffee was awesome and the iced chocolate was lovely albeit a little sweet.

I LOVE IT!

I'm French, so I get really annoying about pastries. Chaumont surprised me! As a vegan, I missed the pain suisse and the chocolate croissants... until now! Chaumont's pastries are to die for. But... some tips:

1. Beverly Hills location is more limited than the one in Santa Monica. If it's your first with Chaumont, go to the Santa Monica location!
2. Don't go there if you are on a budget. It's expensive.

Expensive and overhyped

I was really excited to try Chaumont Vegan, which is the vegan offshoot of the Chaumont Bakery. But it was overall a disappointing experience.

At the Beverly Hills location, the menu is extremely limited, which is a bummer because we really wanted to try the shakshuka. You have the choice of 2-3 egg dishes and 2 sweet dishes and limited pastries. We were one of two tables in the restaurant, but after 20 minutes we still hadn’t received our food. Turns out they had made it to go and it was sat on the other side (regular Chaumont) for 30 minutes. They refired the dishes, which finally came out quickly after a 40 minute wait.

We tried the egg and zaatar croissant and the feta omelette. The croissant wasn’t crispy, and it needed a sauce or something to give it texture and more flavor. The feta omelette was actually quite good and vegetable-forward, but weirdly the feta was not very present. We also got an apricot pastry to go that we ended up eating while we waited for our other food to come out. It had good flavor but was a bit soft.

Overall quite expensive for what it was, and knocking off a star for the poor customer service.

Delicious French Pastries

My husband and I split the orange chocolate croissant and the pain suisse, both were delicious! My husband got the omelette, which he liked but said there were too many tomatoes. The bathroom was out of order and the waiter gave our omelette to another table and then gave it to us after he figured it out.

I'm giving a 5 star rating based off of the pastries.

Pros: Pastries , Ambiance, Friendly staff

Great pastries

Amazing tasting pastries! I tried the chocolate and pistachio. Really great filling and not too sweet!!
Service was very slow and only one person serving for the take away, Uber drivers and restaurant.
I got there around 12.30 and a lot of the pastries were sold out so I would advise getting there early 😊

Pros: Great tasting pastries

Cons: Slow service , Limited options available
