Yummy but nothing special - Edit
We both had the pad Thai without egg which was nice enough but not something to go out of your way for. They had a good range of options (egg/no egg for Vg) and we were seated very quickly!

Decent but nothing special 🙃 - Edit
I’ve definitely had better Thai food. There wasn’t anything particularly memorable here, though the prices are very affordable — I was actually surprised how cheap everything was! The place was completely packed and we barely got a table, so it’s clearly popular. My favorite part of the meal was the mango sticky rice — you can never go wrong with it!

Good Thai Food! - Edit
Although the restaurant is a bit on the basic side and rather unspecial, the portions are huge, the prices are cheap and most importantly; they really do know how to make Thai food. We love our food spicy, and despite ordering as spicy as possible in many different restaurants we found it was often still not made spicy enough. Not here! They actually did make it as spicy as we wanted. Somtam can't be eaten any other way!
Read moreIf you don't like spicy, I'm sure they can do that too. We had fried tofu, fried vegetables with cashew nuts, spring rolls, rice and lemongrass juice. Everything was delicious and we got a lot of food for a very low price.
All food is vegan, egg is only available on request.
In Chiang Mai there are a lot of choices and this is one you should make.
Pros: Cheap, Make Thai food properly
Cons: Bit basic, Has the option of egg

Great place to eat near Thapae Gate - Edit
The service was really nice because the servers were really friendly and accommodating. We visited during Songkran and the restaurant allowed us to sit in even though we were very wet. The menu had a lot of options. There were so many options, that it was a struggle to decide. My family and I ordered a lot of food. The food was really nice, and the portion size was very big

Chada (not Cha-da) - Edit
I ordered a bit too much as I wanted to get a good serving of tofu and some veggies too. They packaged my leftovers to go which was great. The mixed mushroom dish was yummy and I loved the varieties of mushroom. I asked for European spicy but I should have gone for mild Thai spice for some punch.

Been satirical with the title of my review as the restaurant is just Chada! I’m not joking when I say it is effin amazing though. Perfectly cooked fresh and delicious food at very reasonable prices. Very unassuming decor but you can’t eat paintings anyway. Yommm. This one is a must

Great food, service could be better - Edit
I really enjoyed eating here as I thought it might be all the rage with a line out front, it took me just over 15 minutes to get inside but from there everything was a bit of a slog, from having my order taken, to getting my food and payment, the wait staff seemed busy but at the same time had a very slow demeanour about them. I also had to share a table which isn’t a con for me but I know it is for some. Entirely made up for by the food though which was incredible and well priced.

I enjoyed my lunch here and was very happy about all those tasty dishes. They clearly understand veganism and also allergies f.e. peanuts in my case. We had Pad Thai, Pang curry and Papaya salad alongside mango and passion fruit smoothies. Everything was just perfect.

Nice family owned restaurant, if a bit touristy - Edit
Not the most authentic spot, but still tasty thai food.

A valid option if you're in the area, but not really visited by locals. At least not when we went and the place was packed with tourists.

A bit disappointed - Edit
We were looking forward to our meal here after reading the raving reviews, but I must say that we were a bit disappointed. My husband had the fried cabbage and the fried tofu, and both just tasted of garlic. While we are used to that in Thailand, this time it really was a lot. I had the Tom Yum and it was so, so oily, I could hardly eat it. So all three dishes were missing some balance in our opinion.
Read moreThe staff were nice and the restaurant clearly is very popular with tourists (it was crowded every time we passed), and the choice of vegan dishes is large.

Cons: Unbalanced meals (at least those we had)
