Best option for vegans

We went twice during our short stay as we really enjoyed their food and friendly smiles. It is indeed a bit more expensive than other places for local dishes but food is not greasy, it is a cozy venue and we can rest assured no meat, fish or oyster sauce etc are used.
My favourite was the banana flowers stir fry because it was such an original dish, not so easy to find everywhere else, but the curry, tempeh, and in-house made sambal were all delicious too!

Pros: good food, safe, cozy

Cute cafe

Really nice set up for this vegetarian cafe. Chess boards upstairs! Very friendly staff
Aubergine in tomato ginger sauce - really nicely cooked aubergine, good texture and flavour
Fried tempe - not much flavour, but nice and crispy so a good accompaniment to other items
Stir fried banana blossom - nice flavour, very garlicky
Gado gado - sauce was tasty, veg was a bit uninspiring (mostly steamed cabbage and carrot)
Fried noodles - good flavour and nicely cooked
Desserts all vegan, and we tried 4 over the course of our stay. All really tasty, pretty sweet, interesting and cool to try local food.
We went for lunch one day, but several items (peanut sauce, marinated tofu and pancake dessert) were unavailable. In the evening another day, they also had no tofu left, but happily swapped it for tempe.
Juices and coffees too. Coffee was really good, freshly ground, so it was rich and strong

Pros: Tasty food , Very friendly staff and chess, Good value

Pretty good

Considering the island it’s on, this place is pretty decent. It’s quite expensive for what it is (conspiring to other Indonesian spots we have been) but we put this down to the area just being a tourist hub! The aubergine side was very tasty and I had some Tempe with it and white rice. Would recommend this. My partner had the gado gado which I’m sorry to say looks veryyyy unappetising and this was in conclusion his least favourite version of this dish he’s had on the trip. I would say go for a selection of the side dishes or the dishes at the till (there were none of these available when we went)

Pros: Amazing tasty aubergine dish! , Vegan menu

Cons: Staffs English wasn’t great so was a bit tricky , Gado gado not great

Best food and service in Labuan

That was definitely the best vegetarian food so far in Labuan Bajo.
Awesome cook. Excellent service, good communication, and fast.
The Dahl was really tasty, we asked for the recipe, actually...
I'd not take a photo as my partner started to eat all the delicious food before I'd turn on the camera. ;)
We ate for four people so we'd not try the dessert. But we'll come back to try it next time.

Pros: Muchas opciones veganas., Super tasty, Great spicy fine sambal. Perfect hot!

Cons: To write something bad, the beer was not so cold.

Great place to go

Tey serve traditional food. We went several times and everything was very fresh and tasty! The staff is super friendly. While waiting for your food, you can play chess on the tables on the terrace upstairs.

Pros: All vegetarian, a lot can be veganised.

Vegan/vegetarian Indonesian food

The staff are warm and friendly here. I like that the food is based on Indonesian cuisine, even the desserts. The food was all great (though a couple of dodgy veggies on one dish) - the peanut sauce is great on the gado gado. The 5% service charge is noted on the front page and is not as much as some places in Labuan Bajo (I have seen 10 - 16%). The dining tables also have chess boards. There is no Wi Fi and it is cash only.

Nourishing, tasty, authentic food

I loved this place! I would say the best vegan food in town. The peanut sauce is amazing. Everything is fresh and healthy and staff are so warm and friendly. Please visit as they are quiet alot (maybe as they are off the main road).

Pros: All vegetarian and vegan food

Cons: None

Really nice vegan food

We ate here twice whilst staying in the area. We love the stir fried dishes and amazing tempeh. Such good prices and the staff are super sweet. They make everything fresh so you can make amendments to meals. Mostly vegan but they use egg in a lot of dishes so just ask for it to be removed and then the dish is vegan. We also liked the condiments like the spicy sambal. Support the locals and visit here!

Pros: Lots of vegan options , So cheap, Food can be adapted

Cons: No WiFi

Great vegan food!

Small vegan/vegetarian menu but the food was awesome! The restaurant is tucked away from the main ‘strip’ but it’s worth a visit for cheap vegan food. The staff were so friendly too and were happy to refill our water bottles!

Delicious, healthy Indo food

This place is a must visit if you are in town:
• there is a small menu with some great vegan and vegetarian options as well as daily dishes in earthenware pots to pick from
• super friendly staff who are happy to make any changes and who speak very good English.
• the food was full of flavour and tasted homemade, served with a delicious spicy sambal on the side.
• we ate the gado gado - not the worst version of this dish but probably wouldn't order again. The fried tempe side was great, as was the eggplant side dish and the daily dishes we picked.

Pros: local food cooked well, no plastic straws, friendly staff

Amazing vegan food and a lovely place!

We ate here almost every day while in Labuan Bajo.

The food was delicious - you can really tell that so much effort has gone into blending all the flavours and creating the exciting menu of many traditional and local dishes.

We had the Gado Gado every time we visited which was fresh, healthy and SO tasty. We tried most other dishes on the menu and were never disappointed.

The staff were SUPER friendly, genuine and professional and the owner was very welcoming.

I'd highly recommend Catur'z Coffee Club to anyone visiting Labuan Bajo!

Pros: Delicious food, Traditional and local recipes, Amazing staff and atmosphere

not amazing but not awful

Their food isn’t going to inspire any non-veg to go vegan, but it’s okay for what it is. If you really can’t find anything else or don’t want just rice, then check this place out.
