My reason to frequent Ontario

I live just outside Detroit, but due to our proximity to Canada And the enhanced driver’s license, going to Carrots & Dates is pretty easy for my family to get to and is a great reason for us to visit Canada more frequently.
Love this restaurant!

Places Like This Make People Not Want to Try Vegan Food

I've never come away from this place full. I'm vegan, not a small child. I can't imagine what I'd have to pay to be sated here. I must concede most of what I've tasted was flavourful, but all the shredded lettuce in the world can't properly fill a taco. Do we have no respect for macros? Protein, carbs, fat - not just water content.
Not a restaurant for vegans, a restaurant for people who want a light lunch. Would give one star if I could.

Pros: Some dishes are tasty

Cons: Small portions, Exorbitant prices, "Rabbit Food"

Loved Everything About This Place

Found this restaurant on a recent trip to Windsor and my best friend and I LOVED it.

The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, the food was incredible, and the desserts were out of this world. I had a Green Power bowl and it was delicious. I followed it up with a peanut butter bomb and whoa!

My best friend had a Greek burger that was so good she got another one to go for our travels later that day. I grabbed a Caesar salad from the grab-n-go case and ate it on my plane ride later that day and it was so yummy and filling.

I only wish this place was closer to me!

Pros: Delicious Food, Cozy Atmosphere, Yummy Desserts

Love!

Cute, communal vegan shop located not far from the tunnel to Detroit. Mom and I popped in here while we were passing through the city and it was a great pick me up. The staff was really kind and we wanted to order more but were in a rush. Highly recommend.

Pros: All vegan, raw, Mostly gluten free , Good price point

Delicious community building

Always something new to try with plenty of raw and cooked options. Staff is always friendly and helpful, contributing to a relaxing and homey atmosphere. the good food, good people and a good atmosphere are helping the vegan community thrive in Windsor, while also allowing space for non-vegans to get more comfortable with vegan food and ideals.

Pros: Friendly staff, Nice Vibe, Excellent Food

Raw in Windsor!

If you are use to raw food, you will find it comforting to go here. Standards abound and some really good raw truffles (try as I might, I can't NOT buy one each time I visit.) It's good to have somewhere really healthy to eat in this city. Recommended.

Update: Now there's a branch in Tecumseh! Shocking! Grateful!

Healthy Vegan Food

I love carrots and dates!! It’s a great place to dine in by yourself or with friends. There is lots of variety to choose from. Raw foods and those that are cooked. The dessert, especially the chocolate peanut butter mousse, are to die for!! The food has always tasted incredible and I’ve never been disappointed in the flavour of quality of the meals!

Pros: Great location , Variety of flavours and meals , Amazing dessert

Cons: Fairly expensive , Sometimes staff can be a little unwelcoming.

Windsor Vegan Oasis

Great cozy atmosphere. Love it. Cool below street level location. Good coffees and reasonably, nice selection of desert and solid vegan fare. Hey... And they're licensed. I am only a visitor in Windsor otherwise this would be a regular stop.

Really good food

My first time at this clean, bright and cozy restaurant. I had a brunch which included lentil soup, avocado toast and Caesar salad with a protein patty. All was great tasting food.

I've tried mostly everything from the menu & it's absolutely delicious!! Always made with the freshest ingredients. The nachos are to die for, and the longevity salad too, along with the pancakes and raw tacos to just name a few. It's healthy tasty food on point :)

I got red stuffed pepper (which was delicious). The atmosphere was really neat as the store is under ground. There are to-go options, desserts, juices, soups, stews, and they always have a special of the day. I will totally be going back when I'm in Windsor again.

Not Easy to Find But Worth It.

The address is for the front of the building. Carrot N' Dates is on the side of the building and below street level. Great salads, soups, smoothies, and deserts. All healthy and tasty.

Healthiest place to eat.

Carrot’s N Dates is by far the best healthiest place to eat in all Essex County. The owners are super nice people and they care about the quality of the food and helping small local businesses. They specialize in wholesome, gluten free and 100% plant based food made with the freshest and finest ingredients. The food is sourced local and GMO free when possible. All the food is made from scratch with no processed salts, refines sugars, fillers, dairy, eggs or preservatives. I hope you enjoy this place as much as I do.

Pros: Home made, delicious, friendly
