Serves meat, vegan options available. American restaurant and pizza chain with outlets in Seoul. The menu classifies the dishes into four categories, one of which is vegan. The choices include a vegan burger, the sunflower bowl, soy meat crunchy bowl, and beyond sausage salad. Ask for a vegan dressing like the balsamic. Soy meat may be requested as replacement for regular meat in the non-veg dishes. Note that the flatbreads/pizzas and pasta contain egg.

Trying to please all...

This is a big restaurant located on the first floor on top of COEX mall. It has a colorful Western-style menu with seafood, pizza, pasta and salad dishes.

The menu features some veggie options, most of which are vegetarian and not vegan.
The salad "soy meat crunch bowl" was labeled as vegan, but the pesto dressing served with it contained cheese. Plus, instead of using fresh vegetables, they used cold, defrosted baby carrots which is ironic - particularly in a salad that's labeled as "crunchy".

Service was not that good here, either felt neglected or overwhelming the single waitress. You have to ask for water each time you empty your cup.

Regardless, the restaurant was full, Koreans and foreigners with children. It seems to be popular among the mainstream eaters.

Lovely beyond meat salads

California Pizza Kitchen is one of my favourite restaurants in Seoul, especially the Coex branch. The menu clearly classifies the dishes into four categories: Vegan, Vegetarian (milk and milk products), Pescatarian (seafood) and dishes containing meat. The categories are explained in detail on the second page of the menu card, and you will find a small circle next to each indicating the category to which it belongs. My favourite items on the menu are the Sunflower Bowl (vegan), Soy meat crunchy bowl, and the Beyond Sausage salad. Although the symbol next to the Beyond Sausage salad reads "PS" which stands for pescatarian, it does not contain any seafood. Because of the laver (seaweed) in the salad, it has been classified so. I always ask for the balsamic dressing as they make their own and it tastes delicious. Hands down the best balsamic dressing I have ever tasted. They also have a vegan burger, but I found it too bland. The pizzas contain cheese and are quite nice. Especially the cauliflower crust, if you decide to opt for one. One can hardly tell the difference, but it gets cold faster than the normal crust. I have never tried the pasta as it contains garlic, and I detest garlic, but my friend says it tastes good. The non-vegetarian dishes on the menu can be made vegan by substituting the meat with soy meat; the staff are very kind and will execute your request without reservations. Bon appetit!

Pros: Great staff, Great salads, Mellow ambience
