Reported to be an all-vegan cafeteria with multiple options of pica pica, sandwiches, hamburgers, pizza, bowl of the week, desserts, ice cream, smoothies, organic drinks, etc. All containers and utensils are compostable. Take away service. Kitchen closes half an hour later for take out orders. Open Mon-Tue 12:30-15:30, Tue 19:30-22:30, Fri-Sun 12:30-15:30, 19:30-22:30. Closed Wed. Hours may vary; call ahead.

Great vegan food with a beautiful view - Edit
Lovely food and reasonable price. Loin sandwich was gorgeous and lemon meringue pie was such a treat. Was great to have patatas bravas as nowhere else has a vegan option. Coffees were great too.

Nach einigen Tagen in Ciutadella, wo die vegane Auswahl ja nicht so groß ist, wars schön in Mahon in ein rein veganes Lokal zu gehen. Von verschiedenen Tapas, Burger und Sandwiches gibt es eine gute Auswahl. Geschmacklich fanden wir es leider aber nicht so besonders. Kann man machen, muss man aber nicht.

Burger for 12 euro was too small, no fries, hardly vegetables. Didn't really look representative. Calamari were okay, but also small portion for the 8,50 euro. Coffee was very good tho and the girl helped me with letting me charge my devices in café next door. Therefore 3 stars!

We arrived 10 minutes before opening time so sat outside waiting. The waitress came out and in a very rude manner told us they’re closed and we couldn’t sit there. We explained we were waiting for them to open and she sniggered and walked off. Honestly, had there been another vegan place nearby we would have left. Thankfully the older lady serving inside was much more pleasant. Food was ok, bowl of the week was a little plain, daughter had tacos and said the vegan cheese ruined them but hubby loved his sandwich. Unlikely to go again.

Good food, unkind waitress - Edit
The food was okay but my daughter who was not feeling well and asked for hot water before ordering was treated poorly. She purchased a cold item from a neighbouring vendor while the rest of us were still eating and was informed that she could not do this by the waitress. No problem there. My daughter apologised. Despite the apology, the waitress commenced a loud diatribe of being vegan and not having any non-vegan items on the table. My daughter apologised again and now I apologised but this was still not enough to stop her attempting to humiliate someone who was clearly not feeling well. It soured our experience and we left shortly after, not ordering anything else.
Read moreI am vegan and I can understand why people mock us when people who say they are vegan act in the way that she did. Kindness does not cost anything. I hope she reads this and understands that people with principles should still be kind, professional and show basic human empathy.
I would have left one star but apparently the one star is standard for vegan restaurants so I had to leave it as 2 star.

We took a trip from north of the island to Cala Vegana to try the island’s only plant based eatery, lovely outside seating and extensive menu. Right in the centre of Mahón old town, which is great. Food was nice, although I would have liked more salad bowls and health food options but that’s just my preference usually! My son had vegan chicken burger - lots of sauce and mayo. Non vegan fiancée had bravas fries and calamari. I had the salad with vegan feta. Lovely service and helped out when our son knocked over his milk! Thank you for being here!

it makes me feel bad to give 3 stars to a full vegan place, but i actually didn’t like the food very much..

- lots of choices
- nice staff
- pretty place with outdoor seating
but as someone else mentioned, the dishes are almost all fried processed fake meat which i don’t like very much (so the 3 stars is really based on my very own opinion!) ; also i had the mozzarella burger and the cheese tasted really bad, not at all like mozzarella.
my partner had a burger without cheese and liked it a lot!
for dessert i had the brownie and it was weird! the taste was good but the texture was super dry and also super spongy at the same time kinda like a block of solidified cake, so not the best experience! (but i may be because it was also gluten free and idk how gluten free flours work)
they had a lot of other cakes so try them, they may be really good!

Located at a picturesque square with a view, Cala Vegana scores with its carefree vibe and sweet owner. The display counter is full of homemade, good-looking cakes and on the menu you’ll find lots of hearty snacks and mains with a focus on plant based substitute meals like calamari, prawns, sausages, etc. I have to say that this type of food isn't my favourite, however my philosophy is to rate each venue for what it is, and not for what I would like it to be. It'd be like going to a Mexican and criticising they don’t offer a paella... I had a smoothie with avocado, coconut and mango, the jackfruit tacos and the lemon meringue pie. Everything was great.

Most vegan options at meat based restaurants in Menorca were beyond burgers, so I was slightly disappointed that most of the menu here was just more beyond burgers. Not a lot of meat alternative options rather all fake meats. The food we did have was nice and it was lovely to have an entirely vegan place to try. Cakes were great and nut free
