Located at a picturesque square with a view, Cala Vegana scores with its carefree vibe and sweet owner. The display counter is full of homemade, good-looking cakes and on the menu you’ll find lots of hearty snacks and mains with a focus on plant based substitute meals like calamari, prawns, sausages, etc. I have to say that this type of food isn't my favourite, however my philosophy is to rate each venue for what it is, and not for what I would like it to be. It'd be like going to a Mexican and criticising they don’t offer a paella... I had a smoothie with avocado, coconut and mango, the jackfruit tacos and the lemon meringue pie. Everything was great.

Most vegan options at meat based restaurants in Menorca were beyond burgers, so I was slightly disappointed that most of the menu here was just more beyond burgers. Not a lot of meat alternative options rather all fake meats. The food we did have was nice and it was lovely to have an entirely vegan place to try. Cakes were great and nut free

Had high expectations due to comments, but the menu seems to be based on fake pre-made meat and fried food.

Amazing gem in Mahon - Edit
Cala vegana has a wonderfully varied menu, perfect for vegans, veggies and non-veggies alike there will definitely be something for everyone. The staff are lovely and polite and made sure to help us with allergy advice. The food was incredible we went back few times. I recommend the tacos and the nachos! And definitely grab one of the cakes.

I did not find the staff to be friendly sadly. I was made to wait while they finished a conversation. We only got half of our drinks order. Having to keep going inside to remind them was frustrating. Food took nearly an hour to come out, and it was not warm at all. We ordered a sandwich, a burger and the potatoes bravas.

My husband and I got food from here several times on our trip. The only time we didn’t was the day they were closed. We tried their beyond burger which was amazing! They serve it with popcorn which is awesome. Then we tried their Camembert sandwich which is out of this world! Nachos soooo yum! We also tried their “calamari” which tastes exactly how I remember. My husband is omni and he said he prefers it to the real calamari! We had the meatball sub - this was about a 7/10. The hot dogs are awesome! And the carrot cake is delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant!!!
