Not vegan!! - Edit
As of September 26, this certainly doesn’t seem to be the vegan paradise it once was… contrary to previous reviews there were no vegan pastries (baklava or otherwise) and only 2 vegan ice creams. These were clearly labelled and were dark chocolate and mango. They tasted fine but not great

Vegan ice cream that's not sorbet 🙌 - Edit
It's not labeled anywhere but the staff says all ice cream flavors are vegan (soy based). They have really interesting flavors (cheesecake pistachio!) and I was so happy they are not just fruit sorbets, yay!

Lovely ice cream! - Edit
All ice cream options were vegan and there was a nice and unique selection of flavours. We were told the pastries however were not vegan.

100% vegan ice creams?! - Edit
I‘m really not sure, the employee said all of the ice creams are vegan. We asked several questions and he assured us that they‘re all vegan as they are based on plant based milk, because the owner is lactose intolerant. We bought some and they were great, it‘s just really difficult to trust that it‘s 100% vegan 🙃

Dairy in Baklava - Edit
I asked if the baklava had dairy and they said yes. Unsure of any vegan options here as zero were advertised on menu

Delicious traditional delights - Edit
Very impressed by the variety and quality of the delicious baklavas and mini cakes. Not saturated in sugar but instead full of flavoursome walnuts, figs and pistachio. Perfect with a strong Bosnian style coffee. Amazing location too!

Authentic Bosnian caffe with cool vibe - Edit
We loved Lasta- absolutely authentic Bosnian caffe with a few very good vegan options. We had Bosnian coffee, baklavas (with walnuts and pistachios) and a fig cake. Everything was super delicious. We can't wait to get back to Mostar and to this place in particular.😄

Vegan Cakes and Gelato - Edit
Baklava (pistachios & walnuts) are vegan along with Smokvara (fig cake), and Kadaif (noodle-like pastry).
Read moreGelato is also vegan (all flavours except for Kinder Bueno, Ferrero Rocher, Oreo, and Cheesecake), made with an Italian recipe, using Pregel base.

Great deserts and coffee - Edit
I had the Bosnian coffee and baklava, both of which were incredible. I really enjoy the Bosnian coffee. Baklava in general is always very sweet to me, but this one was really really good.

Hi, was the Baklava vegan?

Hi Alison, both of our baklavas (pistachios & walnuts) are vegan. No honey or anything of animal origin. You can also find Smokvara and Kadaif at our shop, they are vegan as well!

Wouldn’t recommend - Edit
There seems to be real confusion about what is actually vegan here. No vegan options noted on the menu or on labelling. When asked I was told neither baklava is vegan, either the walnut or pistachio. Previous reviews here also seem confused about what is and isn’t vegan with various versions being told. I was not confident that they were clear on what was vegan and chose not to eat there. Would definitely avoid if you have any food allergies or intolerances.

Not every baklava vegan - Edit
Make sure to ask for the vegan baklava. They said the one with walnuts is vegan, with pistachios is not.

Rather than ask which one is vegan it is usually better to ask which one has the animal product, in this case honey. You could also explain that you have a severe allergy to honey then ask if it contains honey. Simply put if you ask if something is vegan in a non vegan establishment they may just tell you what you want to hear or agree with you even though they didn't fully understand you, due to language difficulties.

Hi there, we actually do not use honey in our baklava. It is not common anywhere in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is made with Serbet which is made from sugar.

5* for the location! - Edit
If you can get a seat outside, this is a great spot. The inside is a big gloomy. One server had excellent English and was very friendly.

NOT all flavors are vegan, be carefull - Edit
The cones are also not vegan. Only the fruit flavors are vegan but still good to ask, because for example the fig flavor is a fruit but is not vegan. Some of the creamy flavors have a green V on the sign but that actually does not mean they're vegan, so you have to ask. Otherwise, nice to have an option for a few flavors of gelato in Mostar.

Ok icecream - Edit
Like the review downside, i expected all to be vegan but it was Only fruited. I have been eating better vegan ice Cream. But the location is exactly near Bridge so that was cute. And they have the idea of vegan option. Love it!

So good! - Edit
A fully vegan ice cream shop in Mostar of all places was very surprising. There is no sign that all flavors are vegan, so the place seemed to be very popular every time I went there because the ice cream is simply delicious!

Really cool - Edit
The fact that there are not many vegan options in Mostar makes it a big surprise that there is a whole vegan ice cream shop. The ice cream was very good and there were interesting flavours available.
