Huge portions - Edit
Came away from here absolutely stuffed! I had two roasted aubergines with an amazing tomato and pepper stew on top (I’d have happily eaten a bowl of that alone). It came with roasted potato wedges, but I couldn’t finish it. As others have noted, it’s pretty expensive for Mostar.

Delicious traditional food - Edit
I had the imam bayildi (roasted aubergine stuffed with peppers in a tomato sauce, with grilled potatoes and tomato dip on the side). It was delicious and I was happy to be able to try a traditional dish. There is a section the menu labelled vegetarian/vegan and the dairy free options were labelled so you can have a good guess at what is vegan!

Noisy place, good food - Edit
The place was pretty crowded, just like every other restaurant in Mostar. They had two vegan dishes: Imam (stuffed eggplant) and vegetarian platter (I asked the waiter for vegan dishes on the menu).
Read moreI had the Imam and it was not really my cup of tea. But since I've never had Imam before I don't really know if it was good or bad 😅 but it tasted alright so all in all everything was fine.

Just what we were looking for - Edit
Outdoor seating, wifi, toilets and takes card payments. Menu was clear as to which items were vegan or just veggie. Their falafel was so good and the Imam (I think) was lovely, aubergine stuffed with lots of grilled veggies.

Tasty food, but slow service - Edit
Food house has both indoor and outdoor seating, with a decent amount of vegan options on the menu. The wraps were ordered were tasty and great portion size. However, the service was very slow- we waited 40 mins for just a few wraps and eventually had to ask for them to be packed up to go. Great little spot outside the lunch hour or if you’re not in a rush

I went there twice: vegetarian platter made vegan for 20 BAM was slighty more interesting than the "imam something" dish with eggplants for 20 BAM. Big portions. It was delicious! Go there!
Pros: Delicious, Big portions, Possibly to pay by card

Big portions! - Edit
We had the aubergine dish and the vegetarian platter, which was so much food for the 2 of us. I think the platter was supposed to come with fries or mash, but we ended with the same potatoes as the other dish. The tomato veg sauces were also very similar, not to mention the ajver came with both. So perhaps not dishes to be ordered together!

Imam bayildi vegan - Edit
I came late so I couldn't order what I wanted. So I had the options between Imam bayildi vegan and grilled vegetables. So I chose the first one. The food was good and a great portion. But the potatoes were too salty and burnt.

Try the imam bayildi - Edit
Lovely restaurant. We tried the Imam bayildi; grilled eggplant with tomato sauce, potatoes and a lot of other good stuff. Food house has a lot of other vegan and vegetarian options too, clearly marked. The portions are decent sized.

Good falafel - Edit
There is a whole vegan/vegetarian section of the menu. I ordered the falafel wrap and asked if it was or could be made vegan. The waiter said yes. My dad ordered the falafel too but he isn’t vegan so didn’t specify that. Our wraps came out with different sauces, his with a yogurt sauce and mine with a hummus, which let me know the staff have a solid understanding of veganism! Cute location with outdoor seating and a few good options!

We has a great time and meal at the Food House. We had the stuffed eggplant and the falafel salad and both were delicious. We also had a great service. The price are low and the quality high. The vegans plates are not well labelled but if you ask, there's a lot of options.

Imam bayildi! Found my favorite Turkish meal😋 - Edit
This place is just great. They have an outdoor seating in the heart of the old town. Vegan options are so nice that it’s hard to choose but I went for my favorite food called ‘imam bayildi’ (means Imam fainted). The name itself tells how delicious this food as the poor imam faints out of joy:)

Ok for lunch - Edit
This place is good if you’re with non-vegan friends/family. I’ve had the stuffed eggplants which was fair, big portion, but too oily for me. Service was poor, when i asked the waiter if it’s really vegan (don’t include milk, etc) he looked at me like i was stupid. I usually ask this because many restaurants don’t know what vegan means and put cheese on “vegan” meals, his reaction and attitude was rude.
