Yes, it is that good.

Having read the previous reviews, we thought we'd give Café Roya a visit.

The previous reviews were spot on. Great food, atmosphere and service.

Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere

Cons: Often full! So wise to book in advance

Tasty and expensive

Always great food, seasonal and changing menus. Has to remain an occasional treat, though, the prices are HIGH.

Pros: Great food, Nice atmosphere

Cons: Super expensive

Fantastic

The food was brilliant - visited on a Friday evening for dinner. We shared a nibble (focaccia with oil etc) and then entrees - a special off the board (not an exaggeration to say it was the best battered cauliflower I've had) and one a la carte (spanakopita), both really great. Then a dessert to share, which was delicious. Everything was vegetable-focused and wholesome but without feeling "health food"-y. It was just genuine, tasty, classy veggie food.
It looked like everything on the menu had a vegan option and there were lots of gluten free options too. Service was very good, the ambience was warm - you could come for a romantic evening or as a family. I would recommend Cafe Roya to anyone - especially as so many vegan and vegetarian restaurants are struggling to stay open now.

Pros: Delicious food, Vegan wine list, Classy + warm ambience

I regret not eating here sooner

I dont know what took us so long to try this local restaurant. The food was gorgeous, in both flavours and presentation. The drinks list had some really nice options, especially in the alcohol free sections. The staff were lovely and accommodating and it's wheelchair accessible by a ramp.
This isn't a cheap place to eat but it's not overpriced by any means.

Pros: Delicious food, Wheelchair access, Friendly staff

Delicious meal

Maybe the first ever three course meal I've ever had as I'm not usually one for classier establishments with thoughtful presentation and a small menu. Each course was delicious and perfectly proportioned. The staff were so lovely and the whole experience was fantastic. Will definitely be going again next time we have a date night or a special occasion.

Also when booking our table they asked if we needed a ramp putting out for my husband as he said he has mobility issues which was very thoughtful.

Pros: Delicious food , Wonderful staff , Accessible

Great seasonal dishes

Have been here a couple of times and have never been disappointed! They change their menu every month and offer cuisines from all over the world. Great friendly staff as well and reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. Definitely try it if you’re in the area!

Pros: Great vegan options , Lovely staff , Amazing food

Gorgeous food

The food was nice and it was a good place generally.
Keep in mind that this restaurant is vegetarian so not everything on the menu is vegan.

The BEST food....

Exceptional food at this beautiful space with really friendly staff and gorgeous drinks. I had their homemade Persian tea, dish of the day with 4 salads and it was so delicious. I cannot wait to go back. Reasonably price for the variety quality

Fantastic food

I've eaten here several times & will come again for certain, the food is amazing & the unique flavours of the various dishes have to be tasted to be believed, I have taken a few people with me when I have been & all of them really enjoyed it (& some.of those weren't vegan), can't heap enough praise on this place

Great place to go if you want something that looks as good on the plate as it tastes. Biodegradable paper based packaging means it’s a guilt free takeaway. Lots of choice.

Exquisite food

I've been here twice for dinner and once for lunch. Every time, the staff have been lovely and made sure to check for dietary requirements. Food has been amazing every time. They change their lunch menu daily and evening menu monthly so there's always something different to try. I also love that they try to source a lot of their food locally.

Pros: Food is amazing

Wonderful!

We are blessed to have this cafe in Beeston, interesting vegan food that does not try to be a meat replacement, I recommend the lunch menu, good value and a beautiful plate of food to help you through the day, worth booking for the evening though as it fills quickly. Enjoy x

Pros: Good value, Lunchtime

Delicious but menu a bit random

Absolutely delicious food and drinks, even my onmi friends asked for the vegan options and loved it! So great for anyone who has any kind of dietary requirements, vegan, gf, dairy free, etc. Only thing I wasn’t sure about was that it wasn’t really possible to choose three courses that all complimented each other flavour-wise and cuisine-wise, so i felt a bit sick afterwards! Should’ve maybe just had one course instead but we were treating ourselves!

Pros: Delicious food, Lovely wine and soft drinks, Good quality food

Cons: Slightly random menu journey from starter to main

Consistently great

I have visited Cafe Roya a few times now, and it's always a great experience. Food is all either vegetarian or vegan, and everything I've had has been fantastic, both in taste and presentation. The drinks menu is also very good. Menu changes monthly, alongside specials.

Pros: Always plenty of options for vegans , Regular menu changes

Amazing food

This is a great place. All vegan and vegetarian food; the menu changes monthly. There is also a lunch menu with a choice of 3 courses. Easily the best place to eat in Nottinghamshire

Great vibes

Lovely place. Love the simplicity of the lunch menu. The salad accompaniment was amazing, so many different flavours. Plants are the best. Staff were really sweet and attentative. Just a great place to be. Will definitely come to the area to eat there again. My non vegan boyfriend loved it there too so a winner all round.

Pros: Mainly Vegan options, Modern sleek interior, Not cramped

Lovely dinner (lunch)

Had a lovely dinner here, a mushroom bourgignon and garlic bread which was served with 5 salads. I also tried the ‘crab’ cakes which were super tasty. For dessert I had the chocolate brownie and ice cream, it was so good! To drink I had the golden milk and got chocolate. I enjoyed both. Would definitely come back here again and recommend it!

Outstanding food after a Corbyn rally and we only had a take away!

Unfortunately fully booked at lunch time. What could that mean?! From walking in and being served by two ladies who served and who both displayed exemplary customer service skills. Although it was fully booked we were taken care of while we were waiting offered us a spare seat and offered us free water. Outstanding!

We had different lunchtime meals I went for tofu rancheo whilst my partner went with mushroom bourgignon BOTH with their legendary 5, yeah 5!! salads. Why would you try to pick one when they already come with 5! My partner chose chocolate hazelnut brownie whilst I had Auntie Sandra, just like your mams, apple pie.

We went back to Leicester's free roaming deer to enjoy them! ALL of it was LUSH and outstandingly tasty the afters even coming with strawberries and raspberries.
The packaging and cutlery were even all recyclable.

Just go! Come to Leicester folks for your justified expansion.

Pros: Outstanding customer service, Delicious food , 5 fresh salads and your mam's apple pie!

Cons: None, Fully booked, None in Leicester

Beautiful.

Visiting Nottingham for the afternoon with my Mum who is 83. We had lunch at Crocus Cafe (lovely too, although completely different to Cafe Roya), then met some friends at Lakeside Arts looking at colourful sculpture by Rana Begum.
A walk around University Lake and then an evening meal at Cafe Roya.
This was a lovely day.
Cafe Roya is beautiful both the food and service. They have a few Persian options, however I went for (vegan option) of the Filo feta parcel which had lots of subtle flavours.
Wine and dessert was lovely too.
The perfect place for a family meal.

Pros: vegan options, Can park outside for one hour or after 6pm, lovely staff

We had to come to Cafe Roya having heard such good things about it- and were really impressed! The menu is wonderful (chef is vegan) and everything, including soft drinks have an “artisan” feel- very welcoming and nourishing. Thank you!

Pros: Mainly vegan options, including desserts, Glorious flavour and colour, Lovely atmosphere
