Mmm waffles... - Edit
Having had a craving for vegan waffles for some time. I was excited to visit here seeing that they had a menu with clearly labeled vegan options.
Read moreThree of the waffles are vegan. I chose the Banoffee waffle. This was very nice. I was a little disappointed that the crushed biscuit used wasn't Biscoff as Biscoff is king and they do use it on other things in the menu. I wonder if they know Biscoff is vegan or if they just didnt have any.
The biscuit used was some sort of shortbread which was nice though. The ice cream they use is the Swedish Glace vanilla ice cream.
They also had soy and oat milk for hot drinks.
The vegan cream tea was tempting when in Cornwall but having seen mixed reviews about the cream and the scones on here I decided to go for a waffle instead.
There is also a vegan carrot and orange slice available but I didn't try it.
Staff are also very lovely and the place is decorated nicely.

Love waffels - Edit
We had a vegan scone with coconut clotted cream and Jam. The clotted cream was very sweet and tasted too much of coconut I just prefer vegan margarine which could have been whipped. The scone itself was ok but prefer the normal vegan gluten ones but it was not bad for a gluten free one.
Read moreWe just loved the biscoff banana and 2 scopes of vanilla bean ice-cream with caramel sauce. It was delicious and would definitely recommend.
Pros: Vegan options
Cons: Serves meat and dairy

Absolutely superb - gluten free vegan options too! - Edit
Had an absolutely amazing brunch here. The food was delicious and the staff were really lovely and ever so helpful with making sure my food was gluten free and vegan and explaining how they have a separate area for gluten free with separate utensils and boards etc.
Read moreI had a cooked breakfast and then the waffles which were Out Of This World! And are freshly made in store. I also took a frozen pasty home which I can’t wait to try.
I definitely recommend (plus they are dog friendly)
P.S - I would have given 5 stars but it doesn’t let me because they serve meat also.
Pros: Gluten free vegan options, Delicious food, Friendly staff

Good cream tea - Edit
I had the vegan cream tea (which is also gluten-free). While I'm not a fan of coconut, I liked the coconut clotted cream (though the texture was a little hard to spread) and the scone was tasty. The staff were really helpful, when I said I was vegan they talked me through all available vegan options and restated vegan when they served us so there was no doubt about what we were getting. Only negative was not having a loo in store.

Waffles - Edit
Not a bad little cafe, there is no toilet for customers, just be aware. The coffee was lovely, I had an oat milk latte. I had the banoffee waffle, it was so sweet and I'm not 100% convinced it was vegan. I think the lady got mixed up with vegan and gluten free. Nice but I wouldn't return when next I. Newquay.

The vegan waffles there are also gluten-free, so if it was one, it was also the other 😊

Vegan cream tea average - Edit
The service was quick and friendly but the scone was dry and the cream wasn't a nice texture. It tasted of dedicated coconut and was hard spread more like cold butter rather than light and airy cream. Would be better off using an alternative like elmlea plant cream and whipping it up to make it more authentic. Tasty enough but very average.

Cons: Expensive for what it was, Cream alternative wasn't great

Disappointing - Edit
The only vegan option they did was the cream tea, which was ok, little too sweet and I wasn't given any milk to have with the tea. No savoury vegan options except for a bag of kettle crisps.

Cons: Only one vegan choice
