Nice view, low options

Went here for a work lunch.. The only item on the menu was veggie burger which was good, but they couldn’t figure out if the bread had milk in it so I had to it bunless. Waterfront view is so nice.

Great Veggie Burger!

On an overnight stay in Fall River, MA my wife and I drove the quick 15 minutes across the border into Tiverton, RI to dine at the Boat House. We parked and strolled up to the entrance while soaking in the waterfront view. The interior was brilliantly lit by the evening sun hanging low over the peninsula across the bay and beaming through the high wall of windows on the western side of the restaurant. This being our first visit, I hadn’t the foresight to request waterfront seating when I’d made the reservations; however, the host sat us bayside nonetheless. The waiter appeared quickly. After first apologizing ahead of time for being difficult, I asked what menu item could be prepared as a plant based whole food and oil free option. He went to check with the chef and upon his return recommended the Vegetable Burger: sweet potato, black beans, arugula, red onion, curry mango chutney, on a whole grain bun. As the western sky went from a burning white brilliance to a smoldering purple glow, my wife enjoyed a spry glass of Pinot Noir, and I savored my San Pellegrino (I splurged for the bottle). My PBWF burger arrived on a clean plate with a colorful assortment of raw veggies on the side (see photo). It certainly lived up to our waiter’s recommendation—I didn’t detect any telltale oily films on the bun or slick patinas on the plate, and received no prodding protestations from my gut flora either during or after the meal. Aside from a sense that there was more bun than burger (at times my tongue sifted through wads of doughy bread in search of evasive morsels of delectable sweet potato), I thoroughly enjoyed the winning trifecta of exceptional fare at an exceptional location with exceptional company. We were impressed with the atypical bold and flavorful decaf as well.

Cons: Burger to bun ratio
