Love it

Glad we stopped here on our way through town. Went for the coffee and vegan pastries (which they seemed out of) and ended up checking out the book selection, too. Very friendly and welcoming staff

Pastries are amazing

My husband and I quickly stopped here for breakfast during our vacation. I have to say those pastries were amazing! We got some type of savory pastry with mushrooms which may have been the most amazing pastry I've ever tried, a beautiful cinnamon role and an almond croissant.

Wow - all three were winners. Definitely worth the trip.

Pros: Pastries were fantastic, good variety of pastries

Cons: Wasn't quite ready to serve customers at 9 AM , No menu for drinks

A welcoming space for all

Glad I went out of my way for this gem on my trip. I felt so at home there. Things are sourced locally and it's a great community space for the locals. I've never had such a pleasant experience at a cafe. I stopped by a second on my way back from VT. Coffee was just as balanced and delicious and the vegan croissants were amazing.

Pros: Anarchist Politics , Exceptional Coffee, Sliding scale

Cons: It's 333 miles away from where I live :(

‼️💚 VEGANARCHISM 💚‼️

Vegan Operated Food Justice Restaurant, Cafe and Community Hub. Two daily lunch specials, coffee drinks, cabinet savories, cookies and pastries. Also find items for sale, books, clothes, movie screenings, food fridge, lgbt , vegan, class-equality, anti-fascist safe space here.

This is the spot to come and chill in a cool, clean, welcoming, anti-capitalist, pro-equality, pro-justice, community outreach hub while enjoying amazing vegan food across the street from the Hudson River just under the Rondout Train Trestle in Kingston.

This community run co-op by vegan activists focuses on inclusivity and fighting for real solutions to providing accessible vegan food to everyone regardless of their ability to pay with the belief that everyone deserves a place at the table for community meals. Check out their pages for screenings and other events. This is what's it's all about. No green-sploitation and no attitude. I could live here. -xx-

❣️‼️💚

Pros: vegan collective, food justice, delicious food

Sliding scale!!!!

It makes me happy to see a place that prioritizes community accessibility. Not to sound like a hippie or anything.

They source some really good food (the pastries rule) and the coffee is one of the best I've had in Kingston. Great atmosphere and great friendly staff. You feel HAPPY in there, which is crazy

Pros: Accessibility/Community space, Great bean water, Vegan pastries!!

Cons: Could have even more options, More variety in events maybe?, I don't live closer

All vegan!

Blackbird is such a great place! It’s completely pay-what-you-can (even if that’s nothing), and they ask you if the total is okay before charging. All of the food is vegan and from local vegan or vegan-forward businesses (samosa shack, gab’s veg table, little loaf), and they only serve vegan milks. The space is very relaxed and comforting. Can’t wait to go back!
