Best vegan breakfast - Edit
Incredible. Really nice staff too. Honestly the best vegan brekkie I’ve ever had (and I’ve been vegan over a decade!)

Nice for breakfast - Edit
I had the egg and cress sandwich. Really tasty and full of egg salad, definitely kept me full for a good while.
Read moreIt is rather small, only 10 seats, so you might need to wait for a minute, but the food is worth it. Personally wasn't a big fan of their coffee though, was a bit bitter to me

Cute Cafe - Edit
We have visited on two occasions, both times we have been treated to a lovely lunch!
Read moreThe first time we managed to get the lovely window seat to watch the comings and goings of outside! We ordered the 'egg mayo' sandwich and the 'chicken' bagel with a lovely large pot of tea and carrot cake to share. (12th September 2025)
The second time we came back was on the 12th of December 2025 where we ordered the big breakfast and chicken bagel with carrot cake and a Boston ring with tea for after. All the food we have had there has been so so yummy. We were particular fans of the Boston ring and carrot cake!

Don’t miss it! - Edit
Another place we went twice in our latest trip to Edinburgh. Oh, man. These people are talented. The food was absolutely delicious. It’s a small place with tables and a lovely window seat, but there is a lovely huge green space very close by so takeaway is entirely possible.
Read moreBreakfast, lunch, sweets, hot drinks, maybe the best ginger tea I have ever had. Nae egg sandwich, Florentine, Boston cream doughnut, we didn’t have time to try it all. Such a cool place with awesome people.

Red velvet and GF chocolate cake
Both Super tasty. Redvelvet was juicy and smooth and the chocolate one creamy.
The gluten free one was also nut free.

Great coffee - Edit
We visited in september 2025 and had one of the best coffees of our lives! The food selection was impressive and we had a hard time choosing what to try. The place was tiny but cozy.

Good pastries - Edit
Cozy little cafe, so be warned you might not get seating and there aren't a lot of charging outlets if you're planning to work from them. Got the scrambled tofu on toast which was okay, but the pastries were very tasty.

Tasty Takeaway Lunch - Edit
We unfortunately couldn't sit inside due to lack of seating but we ordered a festive baguette and the egg and sausage roll. Both were tasty options the festive baguette was very filling and packed full of filling. The sausage roll had a nice flavour but the pastry was so flakey it fell apart.

Loved this cafe, super nice staff and amazing food. It's a very small cafe so make sure to reserve a table if you don't want to risk it but it's definitely worth coming!!

Amazing lunches, cakes and pastries. - Edit
Fantastic range of tasty sandwiches, breakfasts and treats plus tea, coffee etc. Our favourites are the incredible sandwiches (eg the augbergine parmigiana toastie or BLT), the vegan breakfast and breakfast rolls with delicious home made bacon, egg or haggis. Not to mention the amazing tofu Benedict!

AMAZING vegan treats! - Edit
I went to black rabbit mid afternoon on a weekday to try some of their vegan bakery items. I decided to try their vegan Boston cream and croissant. Both were delicious! Since I arrived later in the day, selection was a little more limited, but they still had plenty available. I can’t wait to go back and try some of their other items, such as their lunch!

Great haggis sandwich! - Edit
I ate here twice in a few days as it was close to my hotel (Novotel) and both times had the toasted haggis sandwich, which was very satisfying and tasty. It's a small menu, but something for everyone. The cafe itself is also very small, so avoid peak times or grab a takeout.

The BEST vegan breakfast i had, especially the egg!! If you try one thing here, it should be the vegan egg, it's delicious! The prices are totally reasonable, i've paid way more money for way worse breakfast! 100/10 recommend

Black Rabbit - Edit
A small, cosy café with just a few tables, but clearly a local favourite — it was busy when I arrived, so be prepared you might need to wait for a spot. The space has a relaxed vibe, perfect for breakfast, brunch or lunch.
Read moreAlthough there were plenty of tempting options on the menu, I couldn’t resist the Tofu Benedict — and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The hollandaise sauce was so rich and creamy. I don’t know if they make the bacun or buy it in, but it’s genuinely the best vegan bacun I’ve ever had. I wasn’t the only one in the café with a squeaky-clean plate by the end!
