Neighborhood grocery offers the basics

This grocery is located in Madison Valley, not farm from Madison Park.

We used this small neighborhood grocer to stock up on kitchen basics. The layout is a definite throwback to another time, and that added to its charm. There were plenty of vegan options, across different categories - don’t expect the equivalent choices that are found in a big box health food store - just the basics.

We purchased fresh fruit including apples, vegetables-including cherry tomatoes, whole grain bread, and a few other items.

The only area lacking, from a vegan standpoint, are the prepared foods. All that was found, that day, in the grab-and-go section was a hummus wrap.

Pros: Fresh fruit, vegetables, and other produce , A variety of basic larder items, On a bus line

Cons: Almost no vegan prepared foods
